Yup, it was a water bill. Switched it to direct debit now though. All very new and swish round these parts.

Just been to the post box again. Posted another cheque. Cheques and post boxes? All so outdated now.

Nobody carries cash any more either. So exactly what is in your manbag? Excellent question emailed in last night I thought. Julian played it with a very straight bat.

Cheques? CHEQUES? Good god. It's like a little island of 1950's ville out there.

Excellent question, played with a straight bat? More like a juicy full toss, summarily swished over long-on.

My manbag contains a variety of accouterments, scarves, & a selection of ready-signed photographs for my public.

Was looking forward to the European Deepstack at Luton but got there and decided against it. Only 60-odd regsitered. Was expecting 150+.

Had been planning on being in every hand for the first few levels versus random Skandies but the place was full of regs. Would only have donked off, so what's the point?

Thought to myself...£550 on this and sit there grinding it out for a 100k stack to go back with on Saturday, when I'd have to miss the Posh match, or £550 on Posh scoring 4 or more past Exeter at 5/1. That was the clincher.

Got 10% of Celtic though, which will give me a bit of interest for half an hour or so.

No disrespect to those who enjoy this sort of thing, but the idea of playing a monkey comp, with an hour clock and 500 bb's to start would be my candidate for poker's Room 101.

I think you made a wise decision.

Hell & Heaven...such a thin line

Utter farce Boldie. I played that race IR before taking a quick post-afternoon-action power nap. Had a bit on Charlemagne and traded out for a freebie. They all pulled up after random donk waved his flag and blew a whistle, so I wandered off.

Came back and saw the bet had been settled as a zero. "Odd!", I thought. Not voiding that was probably as bad as when they allowed the first race to go at Newbury last month after all the runners had been plugged in to the mains in the paddock.

Just spoken to a mate. The mighty Posh missed a sitter in injury time to make it 4-0. Marv.

Two trips to Luton G in three days. Two wasted journeys.

Turned up for the £280+£20 and only 26 were playing. Sigh. Four paid maybe? Advertised as a two-dayer too, so every chance someone will kick up and insist the final table be played tomorrow.

Meh to that. So bought in for the GUKPT £300 at The Vic on Thursday and the £250 short-handed a week on Tuesday, and it was off to the other casino down the road for the £35 self deal.

That sure went well. Lasted two hands and nearly got in a fight. I was in seat 5. In seat 3 was Nick The Judge. We had a quick chat, then it was his turn to deal...

Apparently they won't let just one person deal in these things at the Circus, as it means that table goes quicker than the others. WTF is that all about? I'd offered to deal not long after getting there. Chippy twat in seat 1 told me it's not allowed.

So Nick starts dealing and puts the cards out in a small circle in front of him. Can't reach seat 8 from seat 3 very easily. Seat 1 doesn't look happy. I end up with two cards in the BB while the SB only has one. Oh dear.

Seat 1 lays in to Seat 3. Seats 2, 4, 5 and 8 all LTFAO.

Seat 3 tells seat 1 he has a bad attitude. Seat 1 gets very annoyed.

Redeal...

Still at 25-50 obv. Old nit two to my left makes it 150. Annoyed seat 1 calls. I look at one card, a 7, and call for 100 more.

Flop comes 5 7 8 rainbow. I say "Better look at my other card now". It's an 8. I stick out 300. Old fella makes it 600. Ooh, this is good. Annoyed of Seat 1 then re-plops to 2500. I have a quick think and then lolushove.

Old boy folds. Chippy annoyed twat sits and thinks for ages. No idea what he could have but thought he'd probably fold to pressure before I shoved, so sat there quietly.

Eventually...

"Aah, what the fuck, I fucking call." He turns over 55 for bottom set.

Me: "Nice. Thanks for the slowroll"
Him: "That ain't no fucking slowroll, it's for my tournament."

I stand up and start wandering away, while saying "He was right, you have a really bad attitude"

"Fucking foooooooool" he wittily replies.

I carry on walking, expecting either a cry of "Watch out" or a blow to the back of the head. But nothing. Phew!

LTFAO = Laughing Their Fkarking Arses Off

Another of my poker phrases about to sweep the nation, like TID with the MOF and the other one that I invented but can't remember at this juncture.

They've dropped their buyins - the $225 on Tues and Weds are new, they've killed the weekly $1000 and the main event is now $1500 instead of the $2k or $2.5k it was before.

Oooh, so tempting to have a week or 10 days of that.

Any idea when the "Summer" (June/July) Deepstack schedule for Caesars will be announced?
