There's always the fantastic story that Darren Anderton had it written into his contract that he had to be the spud on the biggest wage. Each time they signed someone on a bigger salary that him, he had his wage bumped up. Even though he spent most of his time on the physio bench.
He famously turned down united when Beckham left.
Not sure if this is an urban legend or true, but he's supposed to be so stupid i he gives an autograph he just signs an x, because he can't read or write.

In today's Times, it is reported that Remy turned down Newcastle because "Newcastle is in the North, where it is cold", & "Harry has been trying to sign me for 3 years". It also states that Newcastle offered him £40k per week, & QPR offered £80k per week, but "money had nothing to do with it".
His agent stated that if QPR are relegated, he will demand a transfer.

He'll still kiss the badge when he scores.

I don't know why they say money has nothing to do with it. If somebody offered me double wages to do the same job it would be a big consideration. Suggesting the rate of pay isn't a factor when negotiating a contract sounds kinda foolish to me. If I was a footballer moving abroad wages would be the first thing on my agenda. Remy doesn't owe any loyalty to either club so wages and location are exactly the reasons he chose QPR. Once you've secured a good contract tho there's nothing stopping a player giving 100% for their new club. I don't think cutting a good deal auto makes you a disloyal wanker.

Do you think Qpr recent additions to the squad will get them to survive this year or do you think it's not going to be enough this time round ?

They are doomed, imo. Very doomed.

WOW.
Samba £100K PER week.
£12.5M.
Highest paid player at Spurs is £80K a week, so just unbelievable really.

That's a ridiculous amount of money. Is Harry trying to replicate what he did at Portsmouth?

Surely QPR will be bust if they go down? That Samba deal is LUDICROUS.

Have to blame the chairman really. I mean what sort of person allows Hughes to bring in Cesar on enourmous wages just weeks after bringing in Green as well?

Doesn't Mittal earn about £10mil a day?
All money owed is to directors no ulike Pompey and others I think?
