Given what Rory is in the process of doing here, is 8/1 not a huge price for the Open, which is only three weeks away?

I would want to see him get through today first but agree generally.

Open is at Royal St Georges?

Any particular clues as to what is required there? Not one of the Open courses I am that familiar with, last time it was 2003 Ben Curtis won as a complete outsider

Like any links course it's main defence are the elements and particularly wind.

The lowest score of the week here in 2003 was 67 with dry bouncy conditions similar to what we can expect this year, so it's a severe test.

shouldn't suit rory if the wind blows. looking for home made swings who can play all the weird shots, lots of low cuts etc - Bubba Watson/Padraig Harriington appeal. If no wind then, westwood, mcilory etc

Gambleeeeeeeeeeed wayyyyyyyyyy 2 much on this event-mug punting is an understatement.

Oh well best live up to that then...

Am seriously annoyed with myself as i gen do qiuite a bit of research pre comp then seem to go insane mid comp in every major if things go bad.

But its all about the sweats and hell its only money.

Yesterday i bkd jacobsen while he was tearing up the crse and up to -5 with poss birdies to come.

That soon dried up so now hate that bet.

Did some more to hate too. lol

I really need to limit my bets. But i tell ya one thing, hope i lose any outright ones, go on rory win it all son, boy does he deserve it. Smiley

Gone for some big hitters to strike gold on a course macs length has tamed this week.

The others just seemed overpriced.

Ok so here r some other losers:

1pt ew Jacobson@40-1 (top 3 1/5 odds)

0.5pt ew Peter Hanson without rory@125-1 (top 3 1/4 odds)

0.2pts win stricker without rory@180-1

                 quiros without rory@210-1

Top us

0.5pt ew Stricker@20-1 (top 3 1/4 odds)

0.5pt ew Dustin Johnson@80-1

0.5pt win Davis Love III@16-1

Balance=38.25 points.

Just the 45 odd points staked then on the comp....

Was anybody on rory? What were the odds on him before the tourney? He's looking like the new tiger!

Would love if tiger could get back to his best to watch him on rory battle it out!

Dont understand the monty hate at all.

+1 I like him

Still new to it so have to give him some slack at the moment. Saying that he has to cut out all the errr's and references to his major near misses.

8/1 looks knee-jerk low to me, I'd be very surprised if the price didn't drift back to around 12/1 even if he wins by ten shots this week which looks fairly likely. Lay the 8/1 I'd say.

Rory is a very streaky putter imo although he is undoubtedly the best ball-striker in the game.

Honestly think you'd be nuts to lay Rory at double figures. He was in the process of mullering them all in the Open last year until he had to go out late on day two, when it was blowing a gale. Rory IS the new Tiger.

I would like to think the young Italian Manassero will have something to say about that in the years to come. He's something special no doubt about it.

Glad to see Sergio's back. Would love him to fully regain his confidence as he such a wonderful player to watch.

So sick the way my selections offered sweats galore in the final round yet have delivered very little.

Sned and stricker stormed up the board to -4 and -5 respectively b4 dropping pretty meekly away.

The worst was hansen who got to -7 and was seriously looking like he might win the without rory mrkt and at worst cruise to a place and a very nice profit@125-1 ew.

Normal service was soon restored with back to back bogeys and another day another disaster for my betting bank. Oh and jacobsen zoomed up into 2nd before the plummet of all plummets.

Still well happy for rory, will work out any returns in a day or 2. Wd any rory bkrs.
