Ben Lafferty must have eaten run good beans during the dinner break as he came back with 30k, got it allin with 10s against AK which held up to give him 70 plus, very next hand gets it all with against george Geary's 10s and hits a flush, now on about 145.

207 runners started in all for the first GUKPT of 2011.

Despite the noon start and Neil Channings comments, this was actually a 10% increase on last year's turnout at Manchester, although 50 of these runners won their seats through satellites arranged over the past month by cardroom manager Greg

That's 40 more qualifiers than last year, that's the only reason the numbers are up. The runners for the side events were down and the numbers for tonight's £250 are shocking.

A few could have turned up for the main event cos they knew the cougar would be in the house!

Tonight's side event is a 250 + £25 reg fee.. if you bust out you can buy back in again, for another £250.. plus another £12.50 reg fee.

Seems a bit cheeky but I guess if they will put steak and salmon on the buffet they have to get the cash from somewhere.


Peter Wrigglesworth just busted out, AK vs 10s allin pre, Spencer Lawrence took him out.

John Miller just busted out, as did Gregior, Greg Howard and his hat.

Short stack Kristian pushed UTG for 10k with 35, Greg raised allin with 70k and a pair of eights, marc Goodwin called with KK.

Flop came q7653 to take Greg out, Marc wins main pot and Kristian trebles up to 30k.
