Torres deal done bar finalising image rights (@danroan - BBC). £175K a week his reported salary.
He left Melwood in an Audi (I think they make cars, not helicopters).
Torres and Drogba up front - would not like to be a defender facing that pair.

I love the Andy Reid signing by Holloway. Perfect replacement for Adam I reckon.

Please let liverpool pay £35m for carrol!
Is there a likelihood that Liverpool are just trying to back to back these deals? Therefore there is a possibility Torres won't go if the carrol deal can't be agreed?
How long does a medical take?
Would a club buy an injured player and is that injury their risk?

Has that gone through? Like you say, a good replacement - but not heard anything on Adam today?

Newcastle need to stay in the PL. Our league placing is good, and barring complete disaster we should be safe this season. But what about next season? We want to build a team. Yeah, £30m is obv a lot, but what's the point of selling your best players. Also, our squad is thin enough as it is. We'd really struggle if we got another couple of strikers injured.
I also like it in the sense that the "top 4" think they can just throw money around to get whoever they want. GTFO.

Emile Heskey has arrived at Newcastle. He was aiming for Middlesboro.

Good job you put "Top 4" in speechmarks. We'd love to be Top 4

I'd say Liverpool are still part of the "top 4". Perhaps not in terms of ability. But for me the "top 4" are still Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea. And if you can afford to spend £35m on Andy Carroll...

First time we've been splashing the cash for a while! Guess the new owners are backing up what they said about being committed to spending on the squad.

Some people are quick:
@mapsadaisical Newcastle, realising they have a lot of money to spend and that they need a big target man, have just bid £36m for Liverpool's Andy Carroll.

Heard that earlier - made me giggle more than it should have! Apparently Emile Heskey has just had a sex and name change. She now goes by with the name Mrs A. Lott. Sandy
