Handbags at dawn on table 3 where Alan Stearn apparently checked out of turn and was taken to task by gary Cooper, who felt that if he had a one round penalty for betting out of turn, Alan should also get the same for checking out of turn. Alan didn't agree and made his feelings known to Gary quite loudly.
George agreed and Alan now sits out for one round, with steam coming out of his ears.
sounds like a bit of a farce caroline. Where are all the guys from foreign parts that would be attending due to the close proximity of the airport. Am not entirley sure am too happy that you are blogging this 70 runner event instead of dtd either. Can you confirm numbers for tomorrow before i set off in the morning.
blonde are updating dtd too

Overheard Edward Thompson telling the table he has acheived his aim for today and that was to get back to his starting stack.

Vinny Calenti and his amazing shortstack is still in, though he wandered across the card-room a moment ago fooling me into thinking he was out. He was muttering
"I wish I had never played it. I could have bought 250 £2 kebabs instead"
Well the first sentence anyway

I can confirm he said the second part of that.

Jason it's not a farce to be fair it's a great comp for the players and would suit your solid game down to the ground. It's just gonna be a ballache for us updating it as nothing much is happening card wise - why would it with a 50K starting stack! So to keep us all entertained I'm looking for the - shall we say - human angle lol.
Definitely over 100 maybe 150 tomorrow, you know what Day 1s are like.
It's just Days 2 you are unfamiliar with. x

Positioning myself in the vicinity of Alex Martin, partly because I know there will be action and partly to protect him from some Cougar loving I see a multiway limped pot
Steven Chennells limps UTG, Nathan Lee and Terry Mitford call and Martin and Husnu complete and check in the blinds
flop
checked to Lee who fires 1,500 into 2,100
Mitford calls (I might just put that statement on an auto loop for three days)
Martin passes, Husnu and Chennells call
So four way to the
turn. All check
River
Husnu leads for 4,200 into 8,200
Lee calls others pass
Husnu shows
which loses to Lee's
Husnu isn't too happy
"this fucking geezer just never passes do you geezer? What do you think you are beating?"
Pause, Lee says softly "Six Seven off?"

Quality example of correct table etiquette when Shane Dewsbury got it allin with AK against Simon Hendry's Aces.
Shane hits a king on the flop but is turning away from the table when a second King comes on the tuen.
He runs across the card room to his mate screaming YES YES I GOT LUCKY, followed by what can only be described as a small victory dance in the style of Morecambe & Wise "Bring me sunshine", then runs back to slam the table about 5 times while shouting I GOT LUCKY.
Simon Hendry sat silently staring at the flop as Shane then apologised to him, while the whole table looked away, and politely replied "Nice hand".
Vinny "supershortstack" Calenti then said "Perhaps you should apologise for the celebration rather than the beat" but it fell on deaf ears.
More embarrassing was as I was typing this and Shane came over to check that I had the deatils of the hand and read it over my shoulder... He asked me was I saying he played it badly - I said, not at all, I'm simply telling people what a twat you were after than hand.

Alex Martin up over 200,000 and chip leader with over 4x average
"How?" is my obvious question
"I picked off a bluff from Nathan Lee on the river" he replied with a steely determination.

Simon Hendry after his beat with Aces. He wasn't this colour before the hand.

Dave Fredericks, sometimes said to resemble a Home Counties Greg Raymer. Minus sandals and funny sunglasses.
Raises to 1,300 and Dave Johnson shoves for 7,900 total
Dave calls him and finds his A-9 dominated by A-Q
Not after a J-10-7-4-8 board though, and we lose Johnson
