Are you going to check out your numbers of 1st's, 2nd's and 3rd's once you reach 1000?

I keep these to myself, sorry.

Great Stuff, Tank!

As for a totalizer, maybe you can get one off of Ben Affleck (from that Lynx commercial)...? I don't think he'll be using his again.  Cheesy

Day 53 - Today's efforts pushed me past the 1,000 STT played mark. Good to get there but I'm 22 days late. Not too worried as.....

Dull statty bit

On Friday I'd managed only 17.7% of my target while 40% of my time had gone. I was behind a whopping 23.3%!

Today 25.8% of the tournaments required are behind me and 44.2% of the time has elapsed. I'm now only behind by 18.4%.

So in 4.2% of the clock I've put in 8.1% of the total tournaments needed.......and I feel fine  Cheesy

My play is much more regimented and professional-ish now. The structure of my work day is much better too. Play 30, take an hour and a half off, then play another 30. In the last 5 days I've put in 324 tournaments. I've finally started to play like I mean to get there within four months. I think this is largely down to the new, more disciplined, regime.

Before, I'd sleep when I was tired, play poker when I fancied it and had days off on a whim. Instead of 7 sleeps a week like a normal person, I'd have around 10 short ones. Most of the time I wasn't sure what day it was.

I'm still going to take days off (not that mental) but I'll plan when they'll be and adjust my sleep schedule accordingly. Days off will still be  necessary if I feel tilt creep into my game.

Day 53 Results : +$360 (+$8,314.3 total)
ROI : 13.4% (after 1,034 tournaments)

The first batch o' 30 wasn't going too well at all. It finished amazingly stongly though. When I used to play batches of 4 I never ever had a "perfect batch" (four 1st places) Pleased to tell y'all that 1st place money in the last four tournaments before "lunch break" (4am) were all taken down by tigmong.  (That's me  Cheesy)

New word for your dictionarys, professional-ish : Verb used to describe someone who is serious about their STTs but still munches duck pancakes by the computer and gets plum sauce all over the mouse.

Tank,

Think this is the first time I've posted in this thread but I've been following it all the way. So far very well done.
Two questions if I may;

How many VPP's have you amassed so far?

And have you considered moving up to the $105 turbo's? I don't think you will notice an increase in standard, these are pretty soft at the moment.

Cheers for posting Rob  thumbs up

25,870 VPP amassed thus far.

As for the $110+$9's, I thought they were your turf  Cheesy

Not too keen to move up just yet for a few reasons.

There are less of them going about, at time of writing only 3 are currently in progress as opposed to 10 $55+$5's. I've got a good run going at the $55's at the moment and wouldn't feel comfortable multi-tabling a higher limit just yet.

I buy into Magnus Magnussons "I've started so I'll finish" philosophy. (Except when it comes to managing card rooms  )

After the quest, I'll review the situation and consider playing higher limit STTs and/or MTTs.

Going well tank i'm glad to hear.

What are you going to do when it's over?

I know what you plan to do with the points etc but will you keep playing at the same rate? or try a new discipline?

What are you going to do when it's over?

Thanks for reminding me, must get passport sorted.

1. Holiday  disco

Shortlisted destinations at the moment are Thailand (4,000 STDs in 4 months perhaps?) and Australia

2. Qualify for WSOP main event (Playing the $1,500 limit shootout on the 24th and the $1,500 NLHE on the 25th anyway. Going out on the razz on the 26th coz it's my Birthday  )

I want to put in the same amount of hours in a working week, but take more time off to travel.

As for what discipline, that's still to be decided.

I'm on 15k VPP's, but I've been pretty lazy so far this year and only play three at a time max. Still I've just hit Platinum status so should be able to pile up the FPP points from now on, and like you I am planning to use them for WSOP preliminary event buyins. I see your point reagrding the number of tables available, and of course if it ain't broke why try to fix it.

I was on the $210+15's but since the VIP club was introduced I've found a lot of the top MTT players are using these to rack up VPP points. Obviously there's not as much value sitting at a table with Johnny Bax, Sheets, Premier, Riverloser, etc as there is playing with some of the clowns at the $105's.

Speaking from experience that's a great plan. I've been living in Thailand for 4 months now and counting. Nice hot weather, great food, cheap cost of living and excellent internet facilities (which to me was of primary importance). I also spent six months travelling Australia a few years ago, last time England were there for the Ashes in fact, and I plan to head over there for another six month stint (and see us defend the Ashes) in September.

If you want any advice about either just ask  but I can pretty much guarantee it beats living in Luton  scared
