2011 World Series of Poker
Event #38: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em
Day 1 in the Books; Jon Spinks On Top
Day 1 of Event #38: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em has officially ended after ten long levels of hard-played poker. Play began at 12 p.m. PDT with 2,192 hopefuls looking to claim WSOP glory and the $540,136 first-place prize that goes along with it. However, only 320 players survived to see Day 2, including defending WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel (13,500), Melanie Weisner (55,600), Bernard Lee (19,200), Sam Trickett (45,300) and Justin "Boosted J" Smith (32,300) Our big stacks heading to Day 2 include our current chip leader Jon Spinks (133,600), Gabriel Aleria (122,800) and David Rounick (121,200).
Notables unfortunate to bust early include David Williams, Randy "Nanonoko" Lew, Faraz Jaka, Liv Boeree, Matt Affleck, Dennis Phillips, Tom "Durrrr" Dwan, Jon "PearlJammer" Turner, Men Nguyen, Betrand "Elky" Grospellier and Antonio Esfandiari.
Top Chip Counts

2 Gabriel Aleria 122,800
3 David Rounick 92,000
4 Dustin Dorrance-Bowman 82,000
5 Bryan Devonshire 68,800
6 Robert Cheung 62,200
7 Melanie Weisner 55,600
8 Metin Kose 48,000

As well as Jon I think there are a few other Brits going well in the 1500. Think Alexander Martin has chips according to WSoP chip counts.
On final chip counts think some of the Brits have slipped down the 2500 leaderboard a bit.

Posted 3 minutes ago by EricRamsey • Level 21: 5,000-10,000, 1,000 ante
Kevin Eyster and Thomas Middleton got it all in before the flop, but we walked up too late to see how it happened. However it went, but men were in with fairly marginal hands, Eyster in front with against Middleton's .
Middleton ran out better, though, as the board came . It looks like he was all in for just over 200,000, and he's doubled to 430,000 with that pair of queens. Eyster could afford the payoff, but he's down to 190,000 now, essentially cut in half.
