Breazxit is proving more tricky than brexit
Seldom would he ever be described as tricky. All AJ had to do was invite a punch and then counter when Breazeale popped his head out. Playing it safe off long range 1-2's really did not showcase how sloppy Breazeale's technique is.
I meant making him leave in the early rounds. You think AJ maybe treated him the way he would have to treat the big 2 as they are similar heights and used breazeale as practice. Give the guy some credit he had more guts than everyone bar white, AJ has challenged iin his little toe. I thought the guy turned into the perfect opponent for AJ to get some ring time with a suitably sized boxer with no risks. Breazeale was a big bloke trying to wrap AJ up all the time, job done on his learning curve imo. Enjoyed the card, plenty of interesting/known british boxers if not all that competitive. What are your thoughts on groves?
You know John, the elephant in the room is I did my bollox in on that fight. If the intention was to go rounds then my read was a mile off. If AJ began believing his own hype and thought he could walk through Breazeale then I was far too optimistic. Plus Breazeale's toughness surpassed everyone's expectations. The was the first fight of AJ's US TV deal and the yanks sound impressed with what they saw.
AJ - Joseph Parker is a fight I'm looking forward to. There's a number of similarities to the Dillian Whyte fight where we can expect AJ to pull through but be forced to learn on the job. Until then we'll have to put up with David Haye chasing his money fight.
Groves is fun to watch. His offense is good and he doesn't really have a guard to block incoming shots. Tiring down the stretch (issues making the weight?) whilst relying on reflexes to get out the way of punches makes for an entertaining fight down the stretch.
