haha oh dear.

To repeat the epic results of last year when I tipped up Berdych to trade @ 65.0 (he made the final and was 3.2) and Berdych v Nadal final @ 80s (winner  Smiley) seems impossible at this stage.

I was just saying to Linux that theres a possibility that I won't have a big outright bet for the first slam in years.

I've got this on Del Potro:
Juan Martin Del Potro   34.98   £50.93   £1,730.51

But then I laid off at:
Juan Martin Del Potro   29.8   £50.00   £1,440.07

for a £300 freeroll as after watching him in the preparatory grass tournaments I'm just not convinced he can adapt well to the surface and has no sort of record at Wimbledon in the past. He might win the US Open but will be short enough.

Anyway, as I was saying, at this stage its really waiting for the draw, I'm really not sure who is going to win.

Nadal wasn't good at Queens but you can forgive that as he was tired and has disappointed there in the past and gone on to win Wimbledon but all season really upto the French Open he hasn't looked like the Nadal of 2010. Losing to Davydenko and Ferrer then all those losses to Djokovic then going 2-1 down to Isner at the French then struggling against Andujar.

Federer has been in steady decline for 2 years now and hasn't won a slam in that period. He looked a lot better at the French and is great on grass and I'd love him to do it but 5/2 when he lost to Berdych and Hewitt on grass last year and hasn't looked like winning a slam for a couple of years, really?

Djokovic has never looked like making a Wimbledon final. Obviously hes been a different player this season but is his net play really up there at the top top with the other principles which is so important at Wimbledon, I'm not sure. If I absolutely had to have a bet it would probably be him at the prices but doesn't exactly make mass appeal at 4.7.

And Murray will no doubt bottle it in a grand slam semi final vs Nadal, Federer or Djokovic. I nearly backed him a few weeks ago @ 11.0 but didn't bother and now hes 7.6 after winning queens and only really beat a constantly crippled Roddick and an inconsistent Tsonga.

So its wait for the draw time. You might think what I've said about the big 4 means there might be some value in outsiders. But who? Berdych and Soderling have been nowhere near their 2009-10 form this year, Roddick has gone at the game, Raonic and Isner could go a long way but are all serve and its not 1998, Tsonga and Gasquet will entertain and threaten but ultimately not deliver.

Also can I get some tennis racket advice please?
Used to play as a kid and was alright.
Not really played much since I was 13 (10 yrs ago) but fancy getting back into it.
Was looking for a racket and the grips come in different sizes. Is it mad that I watched some video on youtube and think an L2 grip is for me?
Always had a Prince racket so was going to pay some mad amount for one then thought it could easily only last one Summer so is it worth it.
Any of these cheaper options look any good? Got any recommendations?

L2 probably yeah.

In terms of racket, whats your style. I use a lot of topspin forehand and backhand so use Babolat Aeropro Drive, similar racket to Nadals but cheaper.

Do you hit a flat ball or use a lot of topspin? Do you slice? Use more power or control?

Or don't you know and just want to get back into it first and want something basic but durable?

I assume STOSUR [10] and BARTOLI [9] have slogged round the world countless weeks trying to achieve a decent ranking and they get bumped from the top 8 for a woman that has played once in year - I would be well impressed.

Honestly I'm probably in the don't know section as it's been 10 years but my topspin forehand was pretty good. Backhand I used to hit a 2 handed backhand. I was coached to hit it with topspin but it was deffo a lot flatter than my forehand. Whenever I've played since I've not really had the control with the 2 handed backhand and as a result i've always resorted to slicing.

Murray, after a few nice draws, has a shocker at Wimbledon.

Cilic 3rd rd, Gasquet 4th, Roddick QF, Nadal SF.

Apart from Nadal thats a gift of a drw..cilic has been useless for months..gasman will show plenty of flair but wont finish the job and murray put roddick away with ease last week...
