I thought flashing lights were against the law, or at least the highway code.

Flashing lights are much safer because however bright you have your lights - they're always going to be more visible if they're that bright and flashing

They stopped being illegal a long time ago - I saw a reference from 2008 saying they weren't illegal anymore - but according to one source the flashing was never the issue. The law was that you used to have light bulbs; the flashing lights were illegal because they were LED's and the law got changed when it was shown that LED's were at least as bright as bulbs.

We don't use flashing bulbs on cars or motorbikes. We seem to manage.

lol okay if you could get a single bicycle lamp to be as bright as two car lights then you could probably do without them flashing (or even one motorbike one)

surprisingly hard to find reliable figures for it I've found

I hate to bring them up again but cyclists, not all cyclists just the inconsiderate ones who use those flashing lights. Should be banned IMO

Lol. What's up with the flashing lights?

I was just sat behind 2 cyclists at a set of traffic lights. They were 2 abreast and the flashing lights were driving me mad. Simples, ban them.

I followed a van for several minutes driving into London the other day.  It had two indicators about mid way up the back doors.  The left one flashed then the right one, and then the left one and so on.  Absolutely drove me mad, think it was everything to do with the inability to see past the van, or get past it and having these things right at eye level.  Can't recall ever seeing lights that were anywhere near as annoying.  I checked afterwards and they appear to be illegal, and I can see why.

Can't see the problem with bikes though, you are never behind them long, and clearly improves safety for the users.

I've seen bikes with bright LEDs which def make the cyclists visible. They do not need to flash.

I wonder whether any photo sensitive epilepsy has been brought on by flashing red lights?

Players who have to explain to everyone at the table how badly the weaker players are playing. Every hand.

And then if they are sat next to you whisper something (that I'm sure many can hear), 'I had 63 diamonds so would have flopped the nuts, sick!' Regardless of the fact it was a 4 bet pot pre.

Amateur moaners.

People who are relatively new to moaning or they only do so recreationally. On days like today, they get on the train and engage in lengthy, circuitous waffle-rants about nothing at all. Their moaning has no cognitive shape, no direction, no structure. It drfits in and out of consciousness, as does anyone within earshot.

Prepare your moan beforehand, have it ready for inspection like your train ticket and, when the time comes, deliver it crisply, with alacrity and care.

Don't spend a 20 minute journey telling a train about your poor choice of gloves.

A player last night constantly threw his hands into the air to show his disgust at other peoples play.

He shook his head so much, I'm surprised it didn't fall off and roll across the floor.

Of course, so many "Donks calling with shite" meant that he was "forced to do the same." It was "the only way to win."

For the record, he lost.

Whoah whoah! Hold the phone, here!

Are you expecting us to believe that this mind-bendingly gifted poker player did not win all of the money after playing with a group of such observedly terrible players?

Well this is hurting my head.

This thread is made for me and is about to get some serious input.

I'll start with some OCD-related stuff and the get into the harder core piss-offs later on:

1) people who don't put stuff back from where they got it.  Why do they think it was where it began in the first place and how will I find it next time if it is moved to a new location without notice?

This and many other things make me pray for nuclear holocaust on a daily basis.

2) Packaging - I must go through about a tonne of this stuff every week.  Cardboard has now cleary overtaken plastic.

this leads me to:

3) I have a recycling box outside for newspaper and cardboard, but in poor replacement of local binmen it is now a second 'glass and tin' box.  Glass and tin are recycled every 2nd week.  Cardboard I take to the tip when it is full.  Last week the waste & recycling men opened the box with cardboard in it and then decided to fill my half-full general waste bin with the cardboard from the recycling box.  WTF!?

Needless to say a phone call went in to the local council.
