People that hang on to cheques you give them for months on end and pay them in at the worst possible moment.

Stop paying by cheques you dinosaur......end of.

I sent my niece a score for her birthday.

If I'd sent a twenty pound note it would almost certainly have been nicked en route.

Sending £20 by bank transfer isn't quite the same as having a nice piece of paper fluttering out of your birthday card imo.

I could send a voucher I guess, but the last time I did that my brother moaned at me because she had an x box not a wii or something.

So I'm left with sending a cheque.

You seriously think that postal workers inspect every card?

I'm glad i don't share your view of the world.

No obviously not.

But I've had at least 3 cards with cash inside go missing down the years.

Never happened when a cheque is within.

Could be a coincidence I guess.

Tv adverts for gambling companies. They're all irritating, every company has one and they're broadcast too frequently.

"Our players win up to one million pounds every day".

That doesn't even make sense.

super casino on late night TV is funny like that.  It says 'our customers have won over £620m this year so far'.  Given the vast majority of their products have a hold % of 3 or 4% they are basically telling their customers 'you have effectively lost £25m to us this year' by telling us that figure.  If the figures are true they are always telling their direct competitors the size of their business.

I went into Subway and ordered a footlong sub. I couldn't see how much they were but I saw that a footlong sub with a drink was £5.20.

Her : £5.29 please

Me : But it's only £5.20 with a drink

Her : Yes but you didn't order a drink

Me : I don't want a drink

Her : then it's £5.29

Me : ok I'll have a drink

Her : what sort of drink would you like ?

Me : I don't want a drink

Her : if you don't have a drink its £5.29

Me : I'll have a coke please

Her : that's £5.20 please

I paid and walked away

Her : excuse me you've forgotten your drink

He'll tell his scampi story now. I mean, who else counts how many scampi they are served?

Don't you have a Subway husband mate?

At least it would save you 9p a time and he gets a drink to keep him sweet.

In my local shop a 2 litre bottle of diet Coke is £2.09. Two 2 litre bottles of diet Coke, £2.00.

I have photographic proof.

A couple of years ago I was at a kiosk in London that was doing BOGOF on canned drinks.

A bloke in a suit asked for one can, so I suggested he buy two and we split the cost. "Certainly not!" He replied, and looked at me as if I had asked to sleep with his granny.

I have this argument every time at the cinema.

"Why don't you go large and it will be 50p cheaper"

There is just so much waste in the world because of these offers. On a recent trip to Disney World in Orlando I heard that they generate 40,000 tons of food waste every day. That is just so obscene.

http://www.earth911.com/living/art-entertainment/disney-parks-reduce-waste-by-60-percent-in-2010/

Total waste of about 270,000 tons a year (across all their parks), so food waste could account for 40,000 tons a year.  Which gives a little more modest figure of a little over 100 tons a day.
