I let this drop to page 3 and god knows I'm no page three girl, so time to get some posts in here again.

It's been a hectic month!  Archie will be here five weeks on Saturday and he's definitely kept us busy.  The first few weeks seemed a bit meh at the time because we couldn't take him out in public until the vaccinations kicked in.  Looking back, I'm glad we were housebound for that short time.  I'd chance to get to know his habits and work on training without distractions.  He'd 'sit' in no time and only took a day or two to train to the 'puppy pads'.  Once the vet gave the all clear to take him out into our own back garden, I used one of the pads back there to show him where I really wanted him to go...and stopped using them in the house.

"You're done going potty in the house little man."

I was hopeful he understood.  Not so much, as it happens.  That sure was fun for a few days.  But it's hard to be mad for long when you're looking down at this face...

He's only 13 weeks old on Sunday, so I reckon you're right.  We've a beast on our hands.  Just glad he's not as mental as Marley.

Nope.  We've Jack's surname, our postcode, house number and phone number.  The shop made a point of saying "No pet name" on the tag.

OK. You've passed.

It tilts the Hell out of me when people put the dog's name on the tag.

He is absolutely gorgeous, brings back so many great memories of my own Roxy.

If you get half as much pleasure from him as we got from ours you will not be disappointed

We only passed thanks to the advice from the staff at Pets at Home.  Didn't realise how important it was to keep the dog's name off the tag until they explained it.  Makes sense I suppose.  Sad sign of the times to say you shouldn't have your pet's name on their tag though.

Cheers Geo.  He's been a pure sweetheart.  A proper cheesy character sometimes, but knows when to be serious and chill too.

Can't wait to take him out geocaching, but he's still too small for that just yet.  For now we're just enjoying walks to the local park and chasing crows.   Cheesy

OK. Back in tilt mode.

Why would you want it on anyway?

In case you forget it?

Archie's vet hosts puppy parties to help with their socialisation while they wait for vaccinations to kick in.  I'm not sure who had more fun...the puppies who got to play together or the people who got to watch and laugh.

These two were hysterical!!!  The largest puppy and the smallest spent ages facing off.

I deffo forget things, but I'm not that bad.  lol

When I was growing up, we always had the dog's name on one side and your phone number and address on the other.  If someone found your dog, they'd be able to calm it by using the correct name and then return the dog to you.

I didn't do that for Lily because it was a small village and everyone knew her, but intended to for Archie as we're in a built up area.  Apparently it's bad for strangers to know the dog's name because it makes it easier to steal them.  That's what I was told at the pet shop anyway.
