How can anyone be offended by me saying i dislike gypsies and men who are extremely camp ?

Whats so offensive about that ? I'm being completely truthful .

I admit i don't visit this site on a regular basis , but I'm sure there are posts on here criticising and taking the piss out of some high profile poker players. Would someone posting i hate Phil Hellmuth be deemed offensive and would that warrent a torrent of abuse by the Phil Hellmuth Fan Club ?

Do you not understand the difference between criticising someone from what they do and for discriminating against a race because of what they are?

For the record, I asked that racist posts concerning Gypsies be left up because in my opinion racism is less dangerous when it's overt rather than covert.

In some instances, people are not actually racist but rather labouring under preconceptions that have been reinforced by negative stereotyping and a bias media for generations.

I appreciate that this stance could put my fellow mods in a difficult position, and I thank them for their indulgence. If the situation becomes untenable I will accept whatever course of action they decide to take.

I didn't think what the guy said was that bad tbh, just expressing a view. I'm sure there are groups out there that you don't like either. FWIW its not specifically this issue I'm talking about, but just more of a general thing across the forum about the same crew jumping on someone every time they say something they don't like.

Some people in this world aren't very tolerant of others, that's just the way it is. But I don't see why they should have less of a say than others tbh. It's not right if the moral brigade on here get to say what is right and wrong is it?

If he had an established business with suitable premises, the correct tools, a good reputation and he quoted a competetive price then yes, of course I would.

I appreciate what Mr Red is trying to do by asking for the posts to be left up.
It is very commendable that he tries to have a reasonable discussion with people who might have said something unfortunate about Gypsies.
He is nothing if not an educator by heart (And a very patient man)

I do, however, think that there is no point in arguing a point with someone who clearly has their mind made up already.

It's the same as me saying that all Jews are scum. Sure Kab and Snatty (if he ever actually posted again!!) could try to discuss it with me and explain why I would be incorrect in my statement but there would be very little point as my statement would already have made it clear that I have made my tiny and bigotted mind up.

The thread would then only escalate and nothing good would come out of it.
