A cple of things I am unsure about Curtis, do we keep the entire 30 man squad we have at the end of the season going into next season?

When we draft rookies from next years draft do we just pick up a new player and have to drop one to accommodate him as we take a new man  or do we release players before the rookie draft to make room for each new rookie round? If we release are those players eligible to be picked up as free agents there and then?

What happens to the draft picks next season if you get to the stage that you don't want to draft a new rookie and would rather stick with what you have?

cheers

Good questions and all slightly dependent on the limitations of the site, which I won't know for sure until next season.

Typically, the process is that you declare 'keepers' within your roster and the non-keepers are replaced by rookie draftees.  The order and exact nature varies by site but my preference is that we do the draft and then go through the process of declaring keepers.  This might mean doing the draft offline to accommodate this.

With regard to free agency, the sites typically 'shut down' for a period after the season and free agent pickups get locked until it reactivates for the new season.  Again, this doesn't prevent trades happening, particularly involving draft picks, but they may need to be logged and recorded offline for me to process the roster changes through when the site subsequently activates.

Basically, any limitations from the site can be handled outside of it, and I'll then need to do a bit of housekeeping to update everything ahead of and around the draft.

Hope this helps for now.

Question from the Gravediggers War Room:

Can we trade draft picks, either tonight or in future years?

Yes, it's set to 30 Smiley

Pretty sure you won't want to pass on all your draft though.

Tonight, no, as the initial draft is a snake draft (like the redraft league) to be as "equal" as possible.  The site will randomise the order about an hour before so no-one, including me, will know the order until then.

After the draft is complete, fill yer boots!

Lovely.

Kid. Sweet shop. Christmas.

BTW, spurs on telly tonight. If something ridiculous happens, am hoping I'm not on the clock or there could be carnage...

Will be randomised when I finalise the settings and structure.  To send out ths invites I had to assign everyone a specific team in a known spot.

is that all?

got to really analyse fourth string depth charts at running back in the light of the potential 2015 and 2016 draft classes really.
