The trade is Pettigrew for Stevie Johnson, by the way.

Week 3 Update:

Sheriff (2-1) 135.00 - ChipRich (1-2) 79.70 - Rich's shameful attempt at bokking well and truly failed after another heavy scoring week for myself, with double digit contributions from 8 out of 10 of my team.  However, the win came at a cost, with Spiller and Reggie Bush both leaving their games early with injuries which puts doubt into their Week 4 participation.  The big difference was at RB, but also in the relative scoring of the DEF and K's.

LeKnave (2-1) 104.62 - linux (0-3) 93.22 - Linux's nightmare start continues after a tight match against LeKnave results in a 3rd loss.  This game was projected to flip in linux's favour on Monday night, but Jordy Nelson and the Packers DEF failed to pick up enough points in a low scoring (and ever so slightly controversial) MNF game.  Ray Rice and Dave's 2 TE's stood out and made Philip River's poor haul of 3 points irrelevant to the result.

Horneris (2-1) 94.24 - Tighty (2-1) 95.78 - Another game where the projected flip during MNF failed to materialise, allowing Tighty to sneak to a win by less than 2 points.  Horner's frustration at failing to see Jennings and Finlay score 10 points between them no doubt paled into insignificance compared to the apparent injustice of seeing a bet on the Packers fall to the final act from the replacement refs!  Who needs depth in the team when your RBs can score 60pts for you.  Take a bow Jamaal Charles and Andre Brown!  However, it's also noteworthy that TightEnd's Tight Ends combined to score a truly awful -2 points!

jek187 (1-2) 105.80 - Nakor (3-0) 106.18 - I tipped this as my game of the week and it proved to be the case.  Both teams topped 100 points, but Nakor squeaked another win by 0.38 points!  (I think the gap has narrowed since Tuesday so was presumably affected by a stat adjustment).  Nakor moves to 3-0 and now has the only 100% record.  Both teams left points on the bench but the Nakor's two biggest contributors were his kicker, Tynes, and the stingy Bears DEF, which highlights the fact that these often overlooked positions can sometimes have a big impact!

Marky147/sharplea (1-2) 56.32 - Camel (2-1) 92.42 - The battle of the newbie managers sees Camel run out to a comfortable win in a low scoring match up.  It's fair to say that the combo team had 'one of those weeks' when pretty much the entire roster fails to deliver.  Despite having the likes of Romo, Gronk and Fitz in the line up, the starting line up managed to be outscored by the bench!  Camel's score would only have beaten 3 other teams this week, but that doesn't matter if you're lucky enough to be facing the worst team (thus demonstrating that he can transfer his game-selection skills from the poker table!)

bobby1 (2-1) 110.80 - WPIL (0-3) 64.82 - WPIL is clearly the current opponent of choice as, not being content with having an inactive player in the team last week, he managed to get 2 inactives (Stewart and Keller) in the starting line up this week.  His team clearly needs some TLC from the manager!  Phil's team put a very nice week together and the lack of contribution from Stephen Hill (and 25pts on the bench from Torrey Smith) didn't matter thanks to the kindness of his opponent!

So Nakor leads the way into week 4, and deserves congratulations for being the last unbeaten team.  However, he faces a week 4 opponent in LeKnave who has outscored him overall in the 3 weeks to date (only just, but it's a good stat to use for the game of the week!)  We also have a repeat of last season's inaugural blonde Bowl, with linux hoping to finally get off the mark.  The key for the game may well be Sheriff's Stars ability to put out a healthy team.  Those injuries are really starting to pile up!

We've also started to see the first bout of trading activity, as managers try to find ways to improve things within their squads, and it should prove to be another fun week of smashmouth action.  Giants @ Eagles the obvious highlight for me!  Let's see if Vick can find some of his own players this week so that I can avoid the chants of Big Blue next week from a certain person!

Good luck all!

Trent tho

140 - 90 now.

At this rate I might only lose by 35 points.

I do think Defenses add too much to the overall scoring

Much more random than the other positions.

Sheriff, if you wouldn't mind reversing mine and rich's trade theres a drink in it for you.  I made the trade on the premise that my new acquisition wouldn't get bagelled in his debut.

Scott Chandler has 18.2 first half points

Horneris must be chuffed he's on his team.

Not so chuffed he left him on the bench today though.

Greg the Leg......58 and 60 yard field goals for the Rams

Not on my bench, either

going to be a fantasy league kicker for 10 years Mr Zuerlein

(not that it matters!)

It's early days, but pretty amazing he lasted until the 6th round of the draft.

Looks like I'll have to sweat the stat adjustments this week as I'm currently being shown as 0.84 points ahead of linux in our matchup!
