let me know if space become available could try both league if there is room for me

if i do get in would be great if someone can run through the gist of a draft with me before draft day

Go onto nfl.com and look for the mock drafts in the fantasy section.  It's worth trying a few of these to get the feel of things.

If you register with the NFL Fantasy site they run shedload of drafts for random leagues with randoms that play for fun. You can just sign up to one of those and then not bother with that team.

would that not piss off those guys playing for fun?

doubt it. i played two of them last year and probably half the teams were dead by round 3.

People just pick their own team's players Cheesy

i am in 30 nfl.com leagues with 5 different email addresses

trying to perfect strategy from each slot in the draft, and slotting various tiers of players into groupings via my forecasts adjusting for various factors

might be addicted

i blame sheriff. he started it.

looking at the mock draft thing now is it standard or auction ? i think it could be standard

but no idea what roster and scoring mean?

Blimey. You should be telling Channel 5. They'd send a film crew around for one of those "sympathetic" "documentaries"

If you were addicted you'd have joined Jek's double roster league too!

Go for standard and the highest number of players you can find (probably 14).

The actual team you pick is irrelevant, but use the auto-rankings as a guide.

average draft position

so if someone is 32.78, they are across thousands of the nfl.com drafts being on average drafted 32nd of the hundreds of players

gives you the consensus view on a player, not necessarily right...

I am really getting into this mock drafting

ie

QB 2rb 2wr 1te 1k etc etc

how many players will be in our squad i assume we can have cover in most spots to allow for bye weeks and injuries

this is a squad i picked from a 2nd pick in draft with 8 teams in the draft
obviously i am still making mistakes in the likes of picking 3 players from same team
and not worked out yet which teams have bye in same week

also do i need to be putting a spare kicker and def on the bench?

R1-2    LeSean McCoy PHI-RB
R2-15    Dez Bryant DAL-WR
R3-18    A.J. Green CIN-WR
R4-31    Andre Ellington ARI-RB
R5-34    Seattle Seahawks SEA-DEF
R6-47    C.J. Spiller BUF-RB
R7-50    Robert Griffin III WAS-QB
R8-63    Pierre Garcon WAS-WR
R9-66    Jordan Reed WAS-TE
R10-79    Dan Bailey DAL-K
R11-82    Greg Olsen CAR-TE
R12-95    Eric Decker NYJ-WR
R13-98    Maurice Jones-Drew OAK-RB
R14-111    DeAngelo Williams CAR-RB
R15-114    Russell Wilson SEA-QB

15 picks

something like

QB2

RB5

WR 4

TE 2

K1

D1

No need to pick two kickers, or defenses. generally try to pick both very late. thats a matter of your own preference and strategy though

each player's bye week is listed on their stats, obviously important your back up QB isn't on bye same week as your starter

i would tend to group players into tiers

for example first group quarterbacks, rb1, rb2 etc and formulate which sort of rounds you'll want to picm each depending on your draft slot

for example picking 1-5 you'll get one of the five elite running backs, picking 8-10 they will be gone but you'll have the pick of the wide receivers

so draft slot will tend to influence which order you will build your roster in

obviously the key points in many seasons are spots like rb3, wr4 etc....spotting the sleepers that will outperform the place in the draft where you pick them

eg i was fortunate to win it last year, picked up josh gordon in the 8th round and he picked up the most receiving yards in the league and 13 touchdowns, was a monster points scorer all season

so the research to spot those sleepers is a real difference maker, or can be

i would tend in rounds 9-15 to take a risky pick or two in that sort of category which you can dump if they don't come off. much more difficult to dump a safe draft pick for a waiver wire pick up

iron this is one of mine picking out of slot 4

M. Stafford
R. Wilson

J. Charles
F. Jackson
R. Mathews
B. Tate

B. Cooks
D. Jackson
J. Jones
R. Randle
T. Smith

J. Graham
K. Rudolph

A. Vinatieri

Browns

kicker and defense rounds 14,15

charles to start, graham coming back in round 2

rounds 3-9 all rb and wr apart from a qb.

then back up qb, te etc in rounds 10-13

you need a lot of depth in rb and wr...at least 9 of your 15 there as a starting line up will require 5 in these two positions

the reason i was picking def higher is the amount of points they earnt last season and are projected for this season seems to be a big gap
so you really don't want to be the last person to pick a def or you could be left with the eagles (or worse)
