There must be some happy Matt Stafford and Jared Goff fantasy owners around today alongside some happy Detroit Lions and Rams fans too.

A really weird deal. I can't help thinking that Detroit didn't do too badly out of it.

I'm a Detroit fan and I'm pleasantly surprised, albeit the Goff salary. Don't think it's impossible he plays pretty well anyway Goff.

Sport is brutal man.
Goff was the 1.01 pick - franchise QB, took them to a Superbowl, seemed to have a few not amazing games this season but they make the playoffs and beat the Seahawks (as underdogs I think?) a very good team and then lost as the underdogs to the Packers. Goff did not throw a pick in either of those games. Yes the defence of the Rams has been immense but really how much of an upgrade is Stafford over Goff? The main criticism of Goff it seems is he isn't very mobile. Well Stafford hardly has Lamar Jackson levels of movement himself. And then they just dump Goff. Stafford is probably a bit better, he is super tough and guts it out and gives everything every game. I hope he does well and also I guess his contract his quite a bit less.
Did Goffs stock really go down so much this season? I think really they realised how they messed up with his contract and just wanted to get out of it, right?
Anyone think it was a good deal for the Rams?

The new GM did some great work there didn't he, coming from The Rams he must have known exactly where they stood in terms of what they were prepared to give up to move Goff on. Perfect deal for a rebuilding team isn't it? Goff will either play well enough to keep the job as they build around him and if he doesn't they can get rid of him in 2 years with no dead cap. And all successful rebuilds build the team first and then add the QB they want late on. Gives Detroit two options now for their long term QB and as Bergeroo says it's not like Goff is devoid of ability is he?

He's certainly got a point to prove. Every reason to believe he might be pretty good. Put it this way, they can't use the 7 pick on a QB. Got to see how Goff plays first.

One other thing that strikes me Steve is they have also just put themselves in the perfect spot with all the future Ammo plus Goff to take a shot at Deshaun Watson now :-). Imagine if he pulled that off?

Yes true, but I still think they're better to build a defence first. And I'm not sure Watson could be persuaded to go to Detroit either, and I don't just mean for Football reasons!!!

Until after the draft?
Sorry for the delay in responding, Steve.
Yes, keeping the Yahoo Dynasty league frozen for the time being. Until at least after the draft - probably some point in the Summer.
If anyone wants to take over the running of the league, let me know.

I believe that's where we are today. Speak up if you spot a wrong step, by all means. Not the easiest thing to keep tabs on.
Bergeroo's rebuild won't take long, by the looks of it!

I've been asked about whether we should move the league from Yahoo.
I know Sheriff had this question every year and I recall Sheriff's answer being the one I'm going to give...
I'm quite happy for us to move to a different site, but can we have the same features of the league as we have in this one? 30 man rosters plus 5 IR slots? If not, it's probably going to need everyone to agree to move.
The draft is something we do on Blonde over the course of a few weeks, rather than sitting down and doing it all in one evening. If there's a way of running it all through a different site and saving the Commissioner the faff of manually drafting every roster each summer, that would be attractive. Doing the rookie draft all in one night makes mid-draft trades very tough, with a big theoretical edge to the more experienced players, so that is probably a non-starter.

We don't normally. Probably better to leave it til after the players have their teams.
