Good luck with this. I was going to have a crack given the overlay, but then remembered I had a prior engagement on the Saturday, which is annoying as this looks like incredible value. From the perspective of someone who hasn't looked into the Grand Prix events before, I did find the presentation of the information confusing. Reentries, online and live Day 1s, staggered starting times, etc - it may be a bit too much for a newcomer, and even I was confused by a few elements. It took me a while just to find the dates. I also agree with an earlier point that although we admire your generosity with overlays and how often you put your ass on the line, I think you'd get a similar amount of runners with a smaller guarantee. Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck with the event, and hope that DTD continue to set the benchmark for UK poker.

Hi All

Here are the results for Wednesdays live and online flights.

The club has slowed up but the online has done better.

Club produced 15 and online so far today 27.

This gives us a total of 233 and a projected total of  343.

The overlay has decreased to €78,500

It seems that the travelling player has chose as we expected to play online, our only hope of reducing the guarantee any further is we have a last minute rush both live and online on Friday. To facilitate this we are adding a 3rd Day 1 flight at 3.30pm in the hope that with 3 start times there will be at least one that appeals to everyone who hasn't yet played or is willing to give it one more shot.

We really do appreciate everyone that has been supporting Dusk Till Dawn by playing and multi entering or helping to spread the news about the value even after qualifying for day 2. Ultimately i don't think there is anything wrong with the concept but it will be interesting to see what the final unique player number is and whether it is higher than the 1564 of the last Grand Prix, for this to work ideally we needed a minimum of 2000 players and it would appear regardless of the €250,000 guarantee we already had found the max player pool as this level of buy in.

Cheers

i find the concept easy to figure out.......

i spent 20 Min's on the phone explaining to a mate (who is an indulgent guy) and at the end of the conversation he still said why cant i buy in on Saturday.

also two others from gala said they would play if it was not a re buy.....i kept saying its re-entry they could not grasp that side of it ....as i said i find that easy but some its just complicated,

especially if they are used to standard gala comps.

just saying .....gl for Saturday

Our local Gala has embraced the concept of re-entry for it's regular tourneys. Not sure on numbers but there should be a decent contingent in from Teesside.

Find tournament on the DTD site and look at payouts for a very rough idea but this clearly won't be finalised until the number of entrants is final

how do you go about persuading someone who doesn't want to play a rebuy that this is better when it's essentially a rebuy but with juice? surely they'd be less likely to play this format than a standard rebuy

The major difference to my mind is that rebuys always start shortstacked and additional chips are available to top up from the beginning. This is a re-entry which is reasonably deepstacked at the start and re-entry is only available if you bust out.
It may increase some people's gamble factor in the early stages but not to the same extent as a standard Gala £10 madness.

I know this can't be done now, but would have been good if only the top 20% of even 50% (if need be) of Day 2 players cashed.

Min cashing for a little bit over one bullet doesn't appeal as a MTT player, but I'm sure many would disagree and be happy that they're guaranteed a little something.

A higher % of qualifiers and lower % of day 2 cashers would have been better imo, mean mugs like me might actually have had a chance of qualifying. Spunking bullets ftw!! Might have even knocked a few K off the overlay idk?

One more chance for me, tomorrow night, LIVE. FML.

It went a bit downhill once they changed it to allow re-entry in to the same comp you'd just bust out of.

That definitely makes it much more similar to a rebuy.

Not complaining btw because that's how I got my ticket.

When it was unlimited re-entry but only to a separate day 1 I think it was much better but obviously was going to lead to a ridic overlay and had to be changed.
