Doesn't this just fall over when there isn't enough liquidity in the betfair markets.  Either that or you end up skewing the market so much with your £50k bet that the odds you take are bound to be terrible?

Largely accurate, though not quite perfectly so. Essentially as the bet size grows you become increasingly limited in the choice of markets you can 'efficiently' bet into. Short priced Premier League teams, heavy favourites in the tennis etc. will be fine, though anything rather more niche and as Doobs says you will be heavily eroding your EV.

All of which said, the very best of luck to you Eso Kral. A truly absorbing diary.

ESO'S CHALLENGE   £40 to £100k MINIMUM

Ok i have spoken to a few people on here about what i am going to try and do, its got a bit of degen in there and over a period of time is not going to hurt me plus could provide quite a big sweat!!

Basically i remember earlier this year a guy started with an £8000 bet and punted his way to circa £400k iirc eventually losing on his 26th bet when he put the lot (less £80k for his wedding) on Djokovic to beat Fedderer in the French open Semi final and had stated if this won he was going to stop and buy a house, obv he lost and has not been heard of since.

I am not going to do it with 1 bullet but am going to start at £40 and give myself 100 goes ( ie £4000) at trying to get approx 20-25 correct in a row, i dont know whether i will get there and if i dont it does not matter too much as i reckon it will take approx a year to do the roll in.  I am going to do most of it on Betfair and will photo the screen and post itt once i am matched so there is no aftertiming!

There will be some caveats I am putting in and they are   A) I will only pull out money if say i have had 50 pops (£2000) and i am up to 6k on a bet i may withdraw my 2k so i still have 100 bullets and the next bet would be 4k.  B) If the roll drops to 2k i may change to a reduced stake of £20 starting bet and still have 100 pops at it.

I will mostly be playing at odds on and on mainstream events and will not be betting everyday just on events i fancy, but if anyone wants to post itt the odd tip please feel free.  Some people i have spoken to have said can they give me say £400 and do it on a smaller level to win 10k but after Blatchgate i have no interest in this, please dont take it personally just open up a betfair account and do it that way!

I dont know if its gonna be possible but i will have a bloody good try at it and am sure we will have a few good sweats along the way, some have said will i really have 70k on an event after say 20 winners but i am determined to break 100k so yes i will and whilst i am aware the higher i go it may be difficult to get the whole lot on i will find a way and have already thought of this but will obv post on this when i need to.

Will let you know when the first selection is and if i my next post will let you know what i am going to do with the winnings  Wink

GL anyone who joins in!!

Hi Doobs,  Yeah in the later stages i need to be ultra selective in terms of markets or i need to do it in shops only and approach a chain say from day one and tell them i'm prepared to knock in 4k and if i make it obv they get all the publicity so therefore loads of people wanting to try it and in no time they get the 100k back!!

gl with this rich, but i really dont think u will get any of the bets on if you reached 5 figures, hope you do be good to sweat with you Smiley         unless of course you get a bookie to agree with it 1st

but what difference is there between putting a 25-30 selections odds on accy, you will get that bet on easily. (other than the degen sweat Smiley )

POST WEDDING!

Well after the wedding and 2nd Honeymoon in Tanzania and Zanzibar we returned to the UK and started to build our property portfolio further with the purchase of another property in the Midlands and also our own family home located in Leigh on Sea which was the best reposession i have ever been into.  The property was spotless, in a good area infact the previous owners even cleaned the place before they left and believe me that does not happen with this type of sale.

7 Months after moving in we were delighted to find out that Petra was pregnant and as you will already have seen on 23rd March this year Maxwell Andrew Blacklock was born, we have our ups and downs like most couples but really strive to work on things as a team.

It was probably around the time of getting married I first looked at Blonde and lurked as a reader for a few months and then i started speaking to a few guys at various events around the UK.

Pokerwise the past year since i started posting more has been ok with a final table in the deepstack in December where i got counterfeited in a spewy villain dependant spot to finish 8th, then finished 3rd in the Help for Hero's Event at DTD and last month had an even 3way chop in the £100 side on deepstack weekend with a few other minor cashes in other events.

Earlier ITT i said that "you never regret what you have done in life, only what you didnt try or turned down" and i firmly believe this as throughout all the bad stuff and all the scrapes i have got myself into without that I would not be where I am today and most likely wouldnt be with Petra had Max etc etc.  I would however give up all the materialistic things today though if it meant my Dad was still alive as tbh it was only with his passing that I was able to start from scratch and build up our portfolio and start to build our future as well a make sure my Brother was ok....

I think there are ways of getting money on but BF is defo the best way, in answer to your Q IMO the main difference is every week you see people put on these acca's and i think that its easier to pick a really strong bet every few days as opposed to one big acca where 1 or 2 teams will most likely let you down.   Bookies hate big singles but love the big accas!!

I only need 3-4 really big bets though to reach my goal the other numbers will always have liquidity on many markets on BF...
