Im not a trader on markets but what are peoples views of hedging or trading out of bets?? +EV or should you LET IT RIDE?
Most people get this very wrong. They are too quick to green up small profits and let the horror situations ride, when it should if anything be the other way round. With regard to trading out in particular, if it is to crystalise a meaningful amount of money that would kill you if it turned ugly, then it's fine to get out, but perhaps take it a bit easier on unit stakes next time.. If it is just a run of the mill trade, then ignore your current position and evaluate the quote. If the price to close out looks particularly unnatractive, either let it run or even think about going in again for more. IOW - what would I do with this quote if I didn't already have a position?

Pretty much what Simon said but I would add that what is most important is whether the price you are trading out at represents value either in a vacuum or as part of the overall trade. You would never give margin away on the first part fo the trade so there is very little excuse for doing ti when closing. Possible exception is when you have opened a position with the intention of trading it because you expect the price to move (ala Blatch) but then yu don't neccesarily need value when opening the trade just the expectation that others will perceive value and, tbh, most punters are pretty hopeless at this (again ala Blatch)!!

100k CHALLENGE
Next bet is up in Betting Tips and Sporting Discussion, tonight my £66.06 is on Man Utd and Real Madrid both teams to win which will get me nearly to 3 figures. Quite a few people are doing this for differing amounts and it will be interesting to see what happens if someone gets to 8-10 bets in as thats when your likely to be at a grand if you started at £40....
