Had a great day off yesterday and back in work today where we are trying to tie up the last few deals of the month!!

There is a mini festival at Southend this weekend so am playing the £100 f/o tonight and then the £150 f/o tomorrow, these festivals never get well attended anymore as all the Luton and Brighton faces stopped coming after one of the £500 events only got 15 runners and they made up 10 of them and its been on the decline ever since.
They have tried reducing the buy in to £300 - £250 and now its £150, I was going to take the drive up to DTD for the Skypoker 6max but with all the associated expenses and due to the fact i will be there next weekend for the deepstack it makes more sense to stay local and just for Herbie its easier to get a Hendon Mob flag for the month

£100 Rendevous Side Event

This does not bode well in terms of runners for tonight but meh its on the doorstep!!

Only 32runners of the usual Southend standard except 3-4 half decent players, I lose 3.5k in 2pots in first 2 levels with "Dem Aces" and  so go into full on grind mode and rebuild to 11k at first break which was average and whilst on the 30 min break??? decide to take a stroll to watch the horse i backed in the £40 to 100k challenge which wins and leaves me pleased i invested £60 to win on it at 5/2 seperately as well so were now freerolling the night.

I'm ducking and diving at 100/200 and 100/200/25 and get to 17k but they miss 150/300 and go straight to 200/400 when just before the table break i find "THE BELTONS" in the sb and it folds round to the button who looks like he is going to raise then folds so i set the shortie in the bb in and he had already looked at  hoping for action!!  A 3rd BELTON on the flop pretty much finished the affair and we broke to 2 tables with me drawing the table of nits with no chips there must have been 33% of the chips in play on our table so i just picked my spots and chipped up sending this Chinese kid bandy constantly 3 betting him or shoving over his raises till a comical fold by him that left the table aghast!

It folds to him in the sb at 6/1200 and he makes it 10k out of 20.5k total and i find  and have 35k so ship and he dwell folds  wtf?? we chat about his play after and i ask him how long he has been playing and he told me only 6months and on the next break we chat further as he was a nice kid and i told him that in 6months more he will never fold that spot. I think he liked me at that point (changed his opinion later!!) and even more so when we again get it in BvB me with  v  which spikes to send me down to 30k and we approach the FT bubble with only 5 getting paaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiid.

With only 15bigs at 1/2000/200 I am comfortable with my shipping/re-shipping range and when it folds to my sb i open shove  and the bb snaps me with  and holds so were down to 11k and open shove the next 4 hands getting each through before folding the fifth so i can shove utg into the Chinese lads BB and all of a sudden were back to 40k and can raise properly again so we make it 5400 otb and call off the extra 10k from the bb with  and get there v  making the FT with circa 50k..

I draw seat 3 with Dave "Disco" Welch and Neil Barron the only other decent players on the final IMO and in the very first hand Disco misplays a hand that gives me a big pot but also keeps him in the tourney as he limps  utg, utg1 (Chinese lad) limps, Trevor Bulless calls all in for 1800, the sb makes up and i check my  and the flop comes a lovely    and my mind is set to CR so when Disco bets 5.5k and then the LAD makes it 14k i know were gonna have to do a GET THERE but were playing FTW so ship it and Disco folds and i get snapped by  but get immediate service with the  and fade the river up to 95k out of 320k with the poor lad left shaking his head before walking over to cash game he should never have been in and donating £500 to the regs.

I know 5 out of the 6 left and for good Karma I am happy to take a fraction off the top2 prizes to give 6th money back and then knocking out a shortie were down to 4 handed and i have 120k at 15/3000/300 where the BARRON shoves the button for 27k i look at the  which is followed by the  and obv call but lose to  as  but i regain the chips almost immediately BvB knocking out Disco  v  and then unkown "PKR Man" knocks out the Barron and we are HU.

Disappointed is the word as having played well early HU and taking the lead before grinding out a 200k/120k lead and then 2 standard hands and its over, I raise the button with  and we get it in on  but am drawing thin vs  so roles are reversed and from 80k i get it back to 120k before raising the button and then 4bet shoving  and not getting there v  .

Happy with the ££ although only £830 felt i played well and gave Petra £450 towards Xmas and some extra for her, had 10% with my usual m8 and the rest will be used to enter tonights £150 and Deepstack next weekend.
