out of interest, how many points should the line differ by home and away? in general, obviously some teams its going to be bigger than others.

The 'standard' answer is 3pts, so if the home team is -3 then in theory they'd be pickem on neutral ground.

It's very much a generality though.

Yeah three points is the standard.  I increase that to 4 at this time of the year for warm weather teams going north and there are teams that always need adjusting.  Dolphins only worth 2 points for example and possibly even less against teams from the North East that have a lot of support here ie I wouldn't be surprised to see an equal mix of Jets and Fins fans on NY Day.  Would be tempted to give Green bay an extra 1/2-1 point too and also you probably need to add a point to East Coast teams when they play West Coast teams at home especially in early games.

Denver is a team that tends to have a bigger home advantage than most, as games are being played at altitude.

It also means Tebow is closer to god when at home.

This stage of the year teams going cross country on short weeks is a big factor too

Haven't crunched the stats this year but Sunday home followed by Thursday away is a big stat to go against

From memory San Fran have a lot of East Coast trips late on this season

Seems about right.  The match reports said there were around 30,000 Eagles fans there on Sunday.

bets so far this wknd:

Treble on:

Seattle 7/4
Lions 5/6
Saints -6.5

the good old 'TV treble'

Dallas -6.5
Giants -6.5
Pats -7

And Sanchez 1st/anytime 35's and 7's

good start to 1 of the trebles last night. Go Giants and Pats!

Aswel as Sanchez coo, got:

£10 McMichael 1st team TD @ 40/1
£10 Tamme 1st TD @ 33/1
£10 Ochocinco 1st TD @ 33/1

Branch is out for Pats, so we figure that surely Chad will get a lot more playing time today.

gl all.
