So what happens to Tebow now? Who would want him?

its assumed the Jags as he a) went to college there b) they are crap at QB and c) the franchise desperately needs some hope lol, and there is a new owner .

Don't know though, obviously as a running QB with a questionable arm he doesn't suit a lot of systems

Well Miami did run a very strange wildcat offense only a couple of seasons ago. Granted it was under different coaches but if they are seriously looking at Alex Smith then they should have some interest in Tebow.

v good  eg

Dan Kadar ‏ @MockingTheDraft

Seems most think the Dolphins are a landing spot for Tebow because of their extra 3rd round pick from Chicago.

who decides how much someone gets paid when a player is drafted? I assume that you have to go to the team that picks you but what if they only offer you a tenner a week?

A warm weather team to (tho not the rest of the Div) might make it easier to employ a running style offense, esp with Bush playing well at the end of last season and Daniel Thomas looking ok, and they have just traded their best wr too.

each team is allocated a rookie pool of $ by the league, the team picking at the top allocated mroe etc etc

then if Luck say goes for $50m over 5 years with x guaranteed there is a slotting system where packages slide down from that

Occasionally players do hold out, and try to get better money and even more occasionally don't want to play for the team that drafts them

but in essence its mostly done by league formula and working off what the pick above got and going lower than that

So for the player, getting drafted in the top ten not 20-32 is a big big deal

Once the players first deals expire, usually after 4 years, is the key time as the good ones demand alot of money and teams need to fit into the $120m salary cap

you holdout until a deal that suits gets agreed, if you hit a stalemate then it can go on into the season. Michael Crabtree is the last player I can think of that couldn't agree a deal that looked like it might result in him not signing at all. Tighty will know for sure but I think the team can trade the player away or he might be eligible to re enter the draft the season after.

yes. Hardly ever happens though. Even Crabtree signs in the end.

the last big "I don't want to play for you" was E Manning drafted by the Chargers, and traded to the Giants on the day in exchange for Rivers

Denver have gone from a top price 100/1 with the books a few weeks ago to as short as 18/1 in a place after the Manning signing. That is a ridic over reaction imo.

Agreed. Assume they win their division, you still have to get through Pats/Ravens/Texans/Steelers and others to get to the Superbowl and then beat GB/Giants/Eagles/New Orleans

Too short. Right price is upwards of 33-1

Really surprised he's chosen Denver.

Once San Fran showed their interest it really should have been a no brainer.

The talent on the two teams are not comparable.

He's not getting a ring with the Broncos, he could have done with the Niners.

Denver might be regretting moving brandon lloyd on too, manning and lloyd have the look of a good combo. Tho lloyd had managed to land with new england so he deffo did well.
