Handy Andy Hammers Bumper Field at the Blackpool GUKPT

Andy Peters has won £72,020 and Leg 6 of the GUKPT in Blackpool after a hard-fought Main Event final table which saw the chip lead changing hands more times than a magician’s coin.

This victory represents more than ten times his best ever live tournament result and a cracking win over a field of 262, including some of the UK’s veteran pro players and rising stars - Jake Cody, Julian Thew, Ash Hussain, Matt Perrins and father and son players Paul and Ben Jackson among them.  Jackson (the younger) finished runner-up in the Main Event, netting himself £47,820, while in total a prizepool of £262,000 was paid out among 25 players.

A full gallery can be found at http://s1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee367/GUKPT/GUKPT Leg 6 Blackpool - to download the full size images rather than the web size, double click an individual photo’s thumbnail, then choose ‘File’>’Download (original size)’ from the menu in the top left of the image.

Blackpool's side events saw an increase in both the buy-ins to several tournaments and the number of runners taking to the felt near the sand.  Main Event runner-up Ben Jackson won £20,980 beating a field of 142 in the £500 No Limit Hold’em freezeout, while Roy Finlay and Grant Benson each won a £100 side event – the former outlasting 236 other competitors to take home £6,480.  Meanwhile one of the largest fields for a re-entry event seen on the tour competed in Saturday’s £250 NL event, generating a prizepool of £39,000 and paying £11,540 to the winner, Marcin Milde.

Details of all events including their structure and GUKPT Rankings points allocation are available on www.gukpt.com.

Next up is the big one – the Grand Final, to be held at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino from the 21st November-4th December, with the £2,500 Main Event running from the 1st-4th December

wp Caroline! Going to do the Vic?

We won't be doing the Vic. Clash with the DTD Deepstack, and that's more cost effective give the money available

Caroline is doing the deepstack

We are not funded for Monte Carlo yet

see the update fund thread

Not sure about DTD yet, if necessary I'll do both (at the right price) to keep blonde in there

Thanks for the info, Mother.

Really hope this crew soon get picked up, should be easy enough if they were inside, and the CCTV was working. Presumably, (attempted) armed robbery, or whatever it's called, and carrying a knife with intent, would carry a high tariff. Hope so, anyway.

But does it though?!

I don't even read the Daily mail and I get farked off at supposed 'sentences' that get handed down.
