Some how completely missed this thread.

Obv I will be following, I have pretty much backed every 'tip' i have seen on Blonde and don't intend to stop now!

Love grinding out the day job with all the zombies, sat there quitely knowing I have my bollocks on the line in the last at Kempton.

Got a week or 2 safety blanket after Saturday's run good so lets gogogogo.

Nice thread title. GLGL

2:45 Wolves – Autumn Blades has made the frame in 63% of his races on the all weather.  And it would appear he far prepares the polytrack to fibresand, the horse has been in the duldrums recently and not performing anywhere near what he is capable the horse has only beaten one home in his last 3 starts.  The last race was run on the fibresand at Southwell and he was up near the pace early before falling away at the 3f pole, when turning for home he was on the slowest ground and it appeared to me that the jockey gave him an easy time of it.    I am hopeful that the new trainer learnt something about the horse from that race and that we will now see an improved  performance as he tackles a surface that he would seem to prepare.   I would anticipate he will sit just off the pace before being delivered fast  and late.  I have had 1pt e/w @ 8/1. BOG

3:20 Wolves – I am pretty sure at the finish we will be able to throw a blanket over the field.  However the one horse I’d like to be in this race is Cayman Fox she has shown signs of returning to form in her last 2 races and a slipping handicap mark she also has a plum draw, she’s a game filly who likes to lead but she also has some fight in her.  I have taken 1.5pt e/w @ 10/1 – BOG

3:50 Wolves – 2nd division of the sprint handicap is again another competitive race.  I really like the chance of Ability N Deliver to take the purse back to Ireland, it’s a horse that’s ran credibly on previous visits this side of the Irish sea.  I can’t see any reason why this horse wont place returning from a short break and being eased slightly in the handicap.   3pts e/w @ 5/1 – BOG.

4:20 Wolves – Can Do Les
gives the impression that the step up in distance would suit.  He hasn’t performed great for this stable but he seemed to be doing his best work closer to the finish and the extra 2 furlong should suit him.  I think its playing for 2nd place though behind the fav.  1pt e/w @ 6/1 BOG

5:20 Wolves – I was impressed by how well Priors Gold won on Friday, this is a little tougher but I think Gordon Elliot has pulled off a coup by getting young Brendan Powell onboard to take off his 7lb claim.  That said from our perspective I have backed Boa to place.  3pts @ 3.35 if the price is bigger I will top up.  There was a good bit to like about its performance over a shorter trip on Saturday.

5:50 Wolves – A horse I put up on the tipping thread other day was Jibouti.  The Clive Brittain trained horse seems to prefer the polytrack and was a staying on 3rd over a shorter trip on Friday and even missed the break.  I was impressed by that run and will be giving it another opportunity 2pts e/w @ 8/1– BOG

1:45 Ffos Las
– This could turn out to be a competitive maiden with so many unknown quantities in it, there isn’t a great deal of form to go on.  So I’m playing safe and going for a horse that has been over obstacles before and has shown up not too badly on soft ground.  Indian Tiger 2pts e/w @ 12/1.

2:20 Ffos Las – Mistree Dancer is the horse I want to be with in this race has run credibly under heavy going before both over hurdles and fences and  could be one for further improvement over a longer trip, she seems well weighted to go well.  3.5pts e/w @ 11/2 – BOG.

2:55 Ffos Las – I expect that the favourite will win this race as has been found a decent opportunity to follow up on his last success, however should he fail to repeat that performance then I think there is some value in being on BROUSSE EN FEUX in the place market.  I have backed 2pts at 3.3

1:30 Folkestone – This is another race that should go the way of the favourite but if there are any slip up then Joseph Lister could be the one to take advantage having finished 2nd on debut over hurdles  just under 3 weeks ago I expect a big run.  3.5pts e/w  @  9/2 - BOG

2:35 Folkestone – Just Benny looked useful on hid handicap debut/seasonal re-appearance finishing 3rd over 3 miles at Chepstow and as long as he is not inconvenienced by the slight drop in trip he should be bang in contention.   2pts e/w @ 9/2 – BOG.

Just noticed that Cayman Fox in the 3:20 @ Wolves is a N/R.  Feels like a winning day when we have a return this early Cheesy

I'll play safe and say Ability N Deliver - 3:50 Wolves.

Did it drift in betting? Saw it was 33/1 on Betfair but was busy laying favourite so didn't check place odds or have a nibble. Ran a "interesting" style for sure

Good luck with this, Raman.

In 40 years of punting, I never once backed someone's else's tips, it makes no sense to me, but I really hope you keep the thread discipline up, win or lose, & hope it goes well for you.

What doesn't make sense about it ? If your pretty terrible at betting on the geegee's but like a little flutter it makes more sense to follow someone's tips that has a clue then go with your own.

Sorry, Ray, but I have always struggled to find a single reason, or a shred of logic, to backing other folks "tips", I can lose my own money without help from "experts"......!

I don't back the horses any more, but I used to, big time, & for a very long time, both in LBO's & @ the tracks.

I remember one Derby day, a geezer bending my ear about his fancy in The Derby, @ Epsom. "It's definitely trying today" he said.

Who'd have thought?

So would you disagree with my reason, it's pretty viable and something I would do myself. It seems a good idea to me to go with a tip from someone who knows someone involved with the horse for instance etc etc then me just pretend I have a clue what I'm doing and then go with the 3rd favourite for valuooooo or the one that has a jockey on I know.

Yes, I would disagree with that, Ray - strongly!

Surely it's common knowledge that jockeys, trainers, stable boys, "conections" generally, are the world's worst "tipsters"?

Invert the problem Ray. In a typical 8 runner race, the connections of 6 of the horses fancy their chances. They can't all win! The other 2 are "not off", but can hardly fess that up, so just say "we fancy ours today".

Next time someone gives you a tip, use a pin instead. Your results will be no worse.

Its not been a good day, hit the crossbar with a few but that means nothing.

I was disappointed by Shane Kelly on Ability N Delivery, he had an ideal pitch coming off the turn for home but seemed to take the horse on a wider than ideal course and allowed 2 other including the winner to come and take his ground, I'm not saying that it would have won but would have placed I think.

I have topped up on Can Do Les to lace 5 points @ 2.02.
