A year ago today I began updating the December 2010 Monte Carlo from DTD.

As luck would have it, it turned into one of the most memorable live updates, not for the writing but for the performance of one man who finished third to Fun4Fraser and Jack Ellwood, staked on blonde, for c£27,000

Ray "Mondatoo" Norton

Since then, Mondatoo has mostly returned to the online grind and that is faithfully recorded in a thread now almost two years old, now with over 83,000 views

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=46739.3240

There have been problems along the way, and a couple of attempts at Supernova via spectacular volume, one of which is currently in progress.

One of the thing's about Mondatoo's diary is that is real "heart on sleeve" stuff. In it he details his rollercoaster of emotions through this year, all with at times brutal honesty.

I have yet to come across anyone with a bad word to say about Mondatoo, and in the poker world that's quite something.

The MC update was imo the best ever with everyone changing avatars to different Newcastle United players.

For a kid who thinks he isnt liked by many alot of people must be wrong in their thoughts!

What a top guy. So few are so outwardly honest and self depreciating as Ray. Sometimes I almost which he wasnt so, but thats what makes him the Monda we all love!

Great pick, top bloke, and annual supernova hero!

Quality guy, just one of those peeps you can't help but love.

Out of interest is it just me or does anyone else read anything he posts out loud in a thick geordie accent.

To really get the monda accent you have to jumble all the letters in each word up and then say it in a geordie accent.

Ray is a man of honour and integrity. These are two of the most valuable traits a man can possess in my book.

He is amongst the top few on the very short list of people that I would trust to hold my bacon sandwich.

Congrats Monda!
