Well done Barry, enjoy reading your work.

Jake cody, take a gander everyone. That's how you play the game, cool, calm and dignified. Some could do with lessons in etiquette from this fella. Oh and he can play a bit.

I don't know Jake at all personally but for Herbie to say this:

if my son Jake grows up to be as well mannered, polite and as decent a chap as Mr Cody, then I will be one proud father.

he must be one hell of a top fella.

he really is.

No ego about him at all. wp Jake.

It may be because he's nailing his position as one of the absolute greats, but Jake has a table presence comparable to Phil Ivey. Hardly says a word, just sits there and runs the show.

Great choice

I knew Jake when he was just Jake and wasn't Jake Cody poker phenom, and he's the same guy now as he was back then, after two years of constant attention/accolades.

I'm defo as proud of him about that as I am about all the poker winning he's done.

Oh and also he's defo been cheating at live tourneys, only explanation for it

I spent several hours as big blind to his cut off last week, and he smiled politely every time he took my chips. It was almost a pleasure to give them away.

Congratulations Jake.

It is, of course, Matt "EvilPie" Russell

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=45431.1845

On the forum he contributes on most boards, can be trenchant when required...

"All the criticism is embarrassing to be honest.

If it's not to your taste then just switch it the f**k off and do something else.

If you were paying for it fair enough but you're not so stfu!"

is funny at others, never more when Stuart Hopkin is involved and is an integral part of this place

A regular at DTD, the ying to Stuart Hopkin's yang, devoted dog owner, works at Nottingham University and often the voice of reason on here, Matt has had a quietly successful poker year too

Most usually arriving four of five levels into a comp, did you know he's had five top 30 finishes in the DTD Deepstack in the last 18 months? He won an APAT Pro League event, finalled a Sky Poker Tour event and just missed out on a final at the DTD Monte Carlo this weekend.

Thanks for the support everyone.

Been a good few months for me poker wise so it's tough to be overly disappointed.

Shame to be card dead today and also picking the worst spots possible.

Obviously not to be.

Still. Got £3800 stripper tokens so all good in the end
.

When he got knocked out, a smile, a shake of hands with his vanquisher and no doubt straight off to walk the dog

Matt Russelll!!!!!!!!!! One of my favourite Blondes for sure, a really great guy. We started travelling to the same poker events when we had the same backer at one point, and it was great to learn more about this man. It was a shame the deal had to end, but hopefully we'll be sharing a poker table soon, or buying unhealthy amounts of alcohol at the bar. Smiley

Thoroughly nice guy. Great entry to the diary. His love for his dog might go a bit too far though.

Never actually met him (drove past him once) but seems a great guy and a fellow dog lover, so he is ok in my book.

Matt is a legend!

You couldnt hope to meet a more genuine bloke in life. Annoyingly levelled headed, to the point of wanting to kick his head in, but then you realise that he could squash you wish his little finger, although because he is the nicest guy in the workd he obvioulsy wouldnt!

Matt is one of the most welcoming guys on the poker scene, a pleasure to share a table with, but a dirty nit!  Grin

I have met several people on blonde who I have subseqently become good friends with and Matt is very much one of them!

What a (dumb)bellend!

Never met him. But his appreciation of this woman means he's alright in my book.
Well done Matt
