20-odd left, inc G-Rodge, David Twirl, Jim McBride. And plenty of squareheads.

What an excellent turnout.  Really surprised to be honest as it clashed with so many things I just thought it would get killed in overlay.  Very pleased tho and well done to the poker room team for getting a great event going.  Hopefully more of the same in the future.

Why was it so successful iao? Coz it was regged as a festival on The Henderson Mob, because of the sats or just because if was well advertised?

We did a lot of things this time that we have rarely employed in the past.

* Mass SMS messages. 2000 + to those registered to Luton with an interest in poker declared on their profile. A week before and the Sunday prior to festival week.

* Banners and POS material. Including a large number distributed over the Goliath which allowed me to get a large audience to pay heed.

* Advanced advertisement here and on the HM forum - including getting it on the festival listings.

* It clashed only with DTD and the UKIPT which are considerable distances from our venue - leaving a large section of the UK market open to us.

* It coincided, at least originally, with Genting. Which drew more attention to it than usual.

* Because the guys in the room that ran the festival all week are heroes.

kalam has been vastly improved during his return to the room. i know a lot of people have issues with him, but in a busy week his experience was needed

And don't forget it's 'Luton Monthly II' over at Stanley's this weekend, folks    ....     £10k guaranteed for a £135 buy-in.

Two good comps back to back!
