Here y'are Drainydonk...

I am Whitney

Saturday 19th May

One of the best Whitney Houston tributes performing at Grosvenor G Luton on the 19th May from 10.30pm. Be amazed at the brilliant vocals of this truly great tribute act. Remember it's free to enter.

Otherwise, it seems to be the normal Saturday comps according to the website.

‘The Luton G Piss the Punters Off Express’ slipped effortlessly into top gear last night in it's attempt to arrive at destination Cardroom Oblivion.

With the (mug) punters already seated, it was announced that all re-entries would be subject to 100% juice forthwith     .....        including the very comp, that they were sitting around on their fat arses, waiting to start.

Mmmmm      .....     the jeers/boos rang out so loud that the Country & Western 'act' - playing to a nigh on empty Casino - must have thought their number was up!

Whilst all & sundry were mumbling about, "taking the phuqqing piss"      .....      the MAS sprang into action.

Rockstar collared the Casino Manager, as he had got lost and had wandered into the cardroom for the third time this year     ....        must have been heatstroke from the 'soaring temperatures' in Costa del Luton that day.

After agreeing that a 50% price hike without informing customers on arrival was rather shoddy, the 'deadly price-hike' was banished - but only for one night.

Martin was also told that these sorts of decisions were doing wonders for the trade at DTD, and his competitor Casino on the other side of the M1.

He nodded sagely and trotted out the standard Luton excuse      ….       it was by order of that mythical body – Grosvenor Head Office – that David Livingstone (and his brother Ken) spent a lifetime trying to discover the whereabouts of.

As a ‘soother’ it was announced that henceforth our ‘Playpoints’ value was to be increased from one to nine pence in the pound.

Wowphuqqingwee was the reaction     ….     for every fiver in rake charged, we were getting ‘rewarded’ a mahusive 40p extra – the Spawn of Thatcher made George Osbourne feel very proud!

The Obese in the gathering positively drooled at the thought of a ‘free’ ham & pineapple pizza with every eighty sovs of rake racked up! (Vinny’s favourite restaurant Grim-a-Munch looking more, and more +ev).

On exiting the comp Looofah wandered over and asked to be put on the £1/1 DC list, and it was pointed out that there was another game already in progress    ….      self deal – just waiting for a dealer.

Joining Ian the Pisshead, Apoo, and three others we soldiered on waiting for a pro card chucker to be allocated.

I mused to myself that Luton was probably the only place in the country were on a Wednesday night with 38 runners in a comp that you’d get three cash tables that were all DC (1 x 1/2, 2 x 1/1)       …..      not a NLHE cash game in sight.

Well the Aristotolean ramblings were rudely interrupted ten minutes later when we were asked for table charges of a fiver-a-piece .

When it was pointed out that was the same charge as for a table with a dealer, we were informed that was the minimum that (the standard excuse) Grosvenor Head Office allowed.

Asked why two dealers had just walked out of the room we were told, “They’re on their break”.

After a discount was proposed – and promptly rejected – the players declined the ‘kind offer’ and the DC table count diminished by 33.33% recurring.

A business that sends its employees off to lunch together with customers waiting (errrrmmm – maybe one could have his break, then relieve the other?) ought to be lauded for the concern of the welfare of its staff      …..      they must have been exhausted four hours into a shift!

Loofah eventually got on to the remaining 1/1 DC, as the two dealers – suitably refreshed – returned from luncheon with no table to deal at     ....... as three of the ‘self dealers’ had already left the building.

As your Noble Scribe poodled down the M1 on the way home, he pondered the amount of times the policies of the Luton G has left him in soporific disbelief.

But – with only a 20 minute journey ahead – gave up on what would taken longer to recall than reading chapter one of a Solzhenitsyn novel, and turned his thoughts to, “What’s on up at Stanley’s tonight?”

This thread varies from the utter make-yer-eyes-bleed-bland, to sheer genius. Write more Luther, we need to keep the balance weighted towards the genius end.

If only.......bit "edgy" for us, I fancy. Trying to think of anyone there who would fit the bill actually. Chompy too badly bred, if he understood poker (level 5) he might cope, but lacks vocabulary. Henderson too trolly, Dick too old, Vinni too short.
