Hello George
Just a few simple suggestions from you from a player who was a semi regular a while ago but due to life commits etc has not been able to play as much
1) Have an Answer Phone message on the Card Room phone for when it is shut - with Info on the next comp - buy in, late reg etc and any warnings of likely delays such as Pub Games, Special Events
2) Give your dealers a Uniform - went on Saturday and there was a lot of new faces but all wearing random black tops, surely this will help their confidence and maybe make the feel part of the  family - dealing was fine BTW and players were also helpful to dealers mostly and maybee the card room supervisor should be in a suit like you are normally
3) Website - Info - Surely your head office will listen
Good luck

hi George. Once again i applaud your very well constructed response. Whilst i cannot comment on the ruling aspect i can however comment on the other two. I asked a friend to log on for me just this morning and to be honest even if i could get on to the website it certainly wasnt clear. Tonight it appears you have no less than three tourneys running. A £20 freeze out a £25 addon or a £20 rebuy for goliath. If someone that comes regularly to your club cannot understand it how is someone that is New and wants to come along supposed to? I fully understand that this is something that is out of your control however i cannot help but feel that this is not only damaging to your reputation but also your footfall. If people dont have a clear understanding of what is going on they simply wont come. As mentioned to you previously if you could email the schedule to us directly then it would be not only clearer but easier to access. With regard to the dealers yes the old guard has dispersed and New recruits have had to be found. They do need training and i have seen this training take place. You have to remember that all players will have there favourite dealers and the balance to this being there will be dealers the players do not like. Each have their own reasons i know i have ones that i deem 'lucky' and very apt and professional. I also have ones that could not deal me worse cards if i tried and i will readily admit i tend to pick up on there mistakes quicker that perhaps my favoured dealers so maybe some of it is mindset. However the fact that mistakes are made cannot be ignored. That being said mistakes will of course happen. We are all human at the end of the day. The main bone of contention i believe happens after the mistakes are made and we have to go through the pain of explaination. You as a crm must be aware of which dealers make mistakes more that most. I would suggest that these dealers are shadowed by one of your more experienced dealers or managers for a time after their training. This will not only reduce the amount of upset it will also support that dealer and help build their confidence. Might i also suggest that when in training that you ask a few players if they wouldnt mind forming phantom tables when they are there and not playing. Like you said training is very different to actually dealing with a live table. This may reduce the nerves a little when they do go 'live'. As a last line i would like to say that i am very happy with the majority of the New dealers. it always makes me smile when i see them finally adorned in red shirts and i would be happy to help get them to the standard that not only would make your players a lot happier but also put you back on the map as being one of the best card rooms in the country. Remember George a manager is only as good as his staff under him and they are what represent your card room and make people want to come back.

At the moment the main grumble is that tournaments are going on too late again. I know it's hard to find the middle ground and nobody wants the chip mountains we saw in the spring again.

Can I suggest the following for a one-month trial for midweek tournaments?

6 x 25min levels then break, right through. That's two and a half hours of play per session. If you're starting at 8pm you want to be done by 3am at the latest imo. I know Edna has had a couple of 6am sessions lately. Breaks are over-rated.

The only other thing is that webshite. It's worse now than it's ever been.

Re: dealers and rulings, dealers gotta learn and rulings are gonna vary depending who gives them, just one of those things innit. And, like the Blackpool 1974 hero sayed, grats on pwning Luther again.

George, I was playing in vic and ask them about the rule in. I was said that the rulein according to them would be make him to call and not muck the card. Why is it different in g Luton.

Chompy I think you might be on to something hear ( got to be a first time for something) but I would't say doing a two and a half hour stint is the way to go. Do we really need 20 mins each and every break?

Das a very similar ruling was called at this years main event in the world series and they ruled the same way as the G did for fairness to the game.

Thnigs happen in poker that you dont always agree with. You are only hurting yourself by not moving past this ruling that was wrong in your opinion. If you had made the mistake would you of been ok that they knocked you out of the comp and gave all your chips to the other guy?

Yuh, come back Gassy!

I here what you say Ady but sitting round a table in a low-level comp isn't exactly taxing. Anyone can get up at any time after all. The Sunday comp has a two-hour stint to begin with and it doesn't seem to make anyone pass out or anything.

Just seems like a plan to me.

25-50
50-100
100-200
150-300 (25)
200-400 (50)
300-600 (75)

25 chips off the table in the frist break and away you go.

I have only been to Luton for Gukpt etc but at least with this George guy you are lucky enough to have someone who at least listens. Have to say of the 20 or so casinos , G's, Naps, Gala, Stanley etc I only ever found 2 card room managers that would actually listen to the punters

Chompy, I would love to come back, made lot of good friends in this venue and had very good times but might want to wait for my satisfaction and trying out other venues.  The rule in is not the reason for me to stay away but the manager who was supose to call me next day dint have time to call me as she was busy. ABSOLUTE CUSTOMER DELIGHT.

I am supose to get a call from Martin soon, may decide to come back after what he has to say.

I have no complain about George, he is a brilliant card room manager and always trying and wish him all success. I think he is the best Luton has seen till date.

DTD is brilliant and love playing in DTD.

I am also enjoying my game in Aspers now, only thing is they dont like me raising with 2,4 offsuit and winning the pot Smiley. Aslo they dont like the idea of 4 bet with 38 inspite of the fact that it was suited.

I'm not sure what the final rulein will be but I'm with Fallen Angel. Just give me good dealers, ideally with nice breasts.

On a related note, I do feel the uniforms could be skimpier for the girls
