Starting weight - January 9th: 21st 5lbs
                          January 22nd: 20st 8lbs
                          January 27th: 20st 3lbs
                         February 3rd: 20st 1lbs
                         February 10th: 19st 13lbs
                         February 17th: 19st 9lbs
                         February 24th: 19st 7lbs
                               March 2nd: 19st 1 lbs
                               March 10th: 18st 13lbs
                               March 17th: 18st 9lbs
                               March 24th: 18st 9lbs
                               March 31st: 18st 4lbs
                               April 7th: 17st 12lbs
                               April 14th: 17st 13lbs
                               April 21st: 17st 10lbs
                               April 27th: 17st 8lbs

Weekly loss of 2lbs.

Said i was entering "phase 2" last week, but i am still falling shy of being where i need to be and it is just the avoidance of exercise really, but I am not too worried because my diet is now immense. Once I get going with the exercise I don't think i will stop with the consistency, in the same way i have maintained the Vegan diet, i just need to pull the trigger with it, in organising a set amount of time each day, completing it and then getting on with the rest of the day.

Currently I fret too much about the annoyance of it, mainly the physical assertion being out of my comfort zone, but it is a matter of starting slow and building up nicely.

At the moment i exercise about 1 hour a week with football, i just need to add my own personal stuff in there to to up that number to about 5 hours a week.

Will be concentrating on non-cardio work initially, using my own body weight to do a host of different explosive exercises like sit ups, burpees, squats, standing jumps etc. and just do sets of them.

I think the fact that i am still shedding weight despite the lack of exercise is testament to the great diet i am on, and i would love to have a sustained spell of both in tandem together. Not promising that will happen this week by any means, i just want to feel out the exercise routine, and just hope that i start to enjoy it and then boom, off i go.

Very happy with the total progression and wouldn't have envisaged being where i am weight wise, but not resting on my laurels, and equally not making things uncomfortable, as this will eventually turn into the routine i am going to have for life, so i am just easing into it really. Perhaps i should easre into it a bit more quickly though!

Again apols for the essay!

Thanks Lee, Omm and Tikay. I am feeling great in comparison to what i was, and i know not too far down the line i will feel much better than i do now and that is lovely.

Something erred me in what you just said above Lee, about finding it difficult getting back in the swing of things. At the start of this with me i realised for this to have any chance of working it had to be relatively easy to do and of no real frustration. Yeh i had the occasional temptations at the start to stray but nothing that ever really took much of a hold in terms of eating meat and dairy, because i would already be so full up on veg, fruit, lentils and potatoes to want anything else anyway.

I failed on previous diets for the past say 6 years because of the restriction that was involved in terms of how much you can eat, and the calorie counting and how you needed to exercise a regimented amount every day and that always impacted on my freedom, had me feeling stressed and i would always break. So ultimately i was always setting myself up to fail.

On this i eat as much as i want, can lose weight from exercising sparingly, beer isn't ruled out and i always feel full and contented.

Basically what i want to say is that you need to find a course that is easy for you to follow and is obviously effective. If there is any stressful thing involved you may want to stray.

Also, when i look back on my eating habits of old, the chemicals they put in the variety of different foods that i no longer eat are geared towards you having an addiction to them or at least wanting you to have more and more. Then those that have less self control will eat too much, and then the vicious cycle happens. You could just not eat that thing at all, if you know you have a susceptibility to it. That is what i have done, and I am thriving.

I am not saying go no oils, no nuts, vegan, but just be ultra aware of everything you are doing concerning your weight, and if it doesn't stand to reason, then stop yourself at the source and look at ways that you can fend off a similar situation happening again. You eventually build a tolerance to repeating the said poor action, your self esteem starts to build and before long you no longer want to ever do that action again.

I know of myself i am too weak to have a taste of anything too bad for me, as i just would need to have more and more, and then i am done for. I am a shitty foods addict and need to treat it like an alcoholic would with his/her problem, in never having treats (if i do it will rarely be with nuts, and despite their high fat content, have other benefits with it, so this isn't exactly terrible anyway!).

Staving off completely of foods not the best, is not a bad option and i think a lot of people are struggling a lot with having things in moderation when really when they do that all they are doing is making things tougher for themselves to want more and more of the thing they shouldn't. People are quick to rubbish the idea of just giving up on certain foods because that is an impact on their freedom of choice, but with some its hard to have any freedom because you feel entrapped to want more and more of that. Just something to think about i guess.

Irregardless of all of the said above, i consider the weight loss a journey of ups and downs, and i just hope all of you find your way as well as i have, and it is there for all of you, just have the belief, and always keep knocking on the door, despite times where you may have been silly.

First full week completed and I'm happy with how it went. I went to the gym late last night, while there i weighed myself but it come out as 6 stone so without doubt the machine was broke! Not too concerned if i don't capture my weight weekly as i can gauge how i have been doing. Exercise wise i achieve 77808 Steps which equates to 36.31 miles for the week meaning my daily average was 11115 steps so i did not achieve my target of 12000 per day, im not too disappointed with this as the target i have given myself is quite a stretch for me and after walking the dogs i do have to lie down for a few hours. Managed to go swimming twice by myself and took my son once so i was pleased with that. My biggest achievement has been with food, i have not eaten anything after my evening meal, the latest this has been in 6 pm, I've only drunk water in the evening as well and I've limited coffee to 2 per day and i had no biscuits or cakes with them for the whole week.

My jeans feel looser already and I'm as focused as ever. Even my wife has stopped snacking in the evening. So good news all round.

Great work mate. It's all about breaking those bad habits (cake with your coffee, eating too many snacks after your last meal of the day, etc.) and getting into some good habits (getting to the gym 3-4 times a week, swimming, drinking more water, etc.). You've set yourself some realistic but clearly challenging goals, which is crucial imo. Obviously everyone's goal is to be stronger/leaner/healthier/better than they were yesterday, but it's good to set lots of little goals along the way.

What's even better is that you're getting your son involved in exercise, and your wife into some good eating habits. Very beneficial to have a positive, encouraging environment. My wife and my friends want to eat pizza and muffins every night and I have to not only hold myself together and reject these very tempting offers, but also remind them why we're not eating pizza and muffins every night!

Keep going mate; make those loose fitting jeans look like clown trousers by the summer! Smiley

Okay I was tanking this for a while; after getting thrown out of the fry-up thread for my "alternative" fried breakfast, I'm going to try again here. This is frequently my breakfast/pre-workout along with 4 or 5 strawberries, a handful of blueberries, a cup of green tea, and a whey protein shake.

Hopefully you guys find it useful - if so, then I'll post moar.

Rancher's Omelette

Tasty, messy breakfast! And that's you in the background Blonde Smiley

Nutrition Information
Calories:
Protein:
Carbohydrates:
Fat:
349
43.2g
13.2g
11.6g

Ingredients
2 turkey sausages (these may not be a staple in your home. They're £2 for 8 sausages at Asda, and you'll find them with the other fresh turkey products)
5 egg whites
50g tenderstem broccoli
1 or 2 baby leeks (40g)
3 mushrooms
A big handful of spinach (60g)
A splash of olive oil

There's some diced onion there leftover from yesterday, I guess that's optional. Wink

Method
I'm not going to insult your intelligence guys, you know how to make an omelette, but here's the rough order of everything so you nail the timing.

Prepare your ingredients.
Bring your oil to a high heat in a frying pan and bring water to the boil in a small saucepan.
Throw the sausage into the frying pan and the leek and broccoli into the saucepan.
Turn your sausage over after 2 mins and throw your mushrooms in to fry.
The leeks and broccoli take 4 or 5 minutes to boil and the spinach will only take a few seconds to wilt in the saucepan so throw that in right at the end.
Drain your greens, throw them in the frying pan, and toss everything together.
Chuck your egg whites in with a little salt and pepper and give it 2-3 minutes.

There you go! Really simple, really quick, inexpensive, low calorie, high protein meal suitable for any time of the day.

Let me know what you think.
