if you're talking about the fireworks on the thames then I'd suggest you avoid like the plague. the viewing areas are all closed by about 9.30 when they're full and you have nothing to do but stand around waiting

Gatso's got very good advice!

Mine was going to be change plans last minute? But then London isn't for me!

I lived there for 6 years had 1 (aborted) attempt and then left London every nye afterwards.

But im not a London lover, so I hope you have a fantastic time

I wish I was going to London - would be at this:

http://www.alabama3.co.uk/en/events/2011_12_31

Their New Year Parties are legendary(and I saw them live recently & it was fantastic as usual).

Pretty much this.  The best NYE's I had in London were at mates houses rather than out in the city where everything is crowded and ridiculously overpriced although to be fair that isn't really a London thing I don't know anywhere where NYE isn't fairly horrible although I did get an email this week from Le Pont De La tour who are charging £185pp for dinner but the views from there should be pretty good and it is a nice restaurant.

Mmmm, might have a wonder down the Southbank in the afternoon. Not spending 3 hours stood about waiting for fireworks.

What a choice Rod, seen them several times just one of the best live bands around.

Aye, me too - always a great show with a very mixed crowd.... 16 to 60 with a mixture of musical tastes. Actually spent a bit of time at an after-party with Larry Love & Aurora Dawn - before they joined a bluegrass band onstage - real talented & very nice people as well.
