Apparently non-US players need to have secondary ID with their address on
so make sure you take your driving licence too.
This is not quite what it seems, apparently.
Ty Stewart (WSOP Big Cheese Bloke) issued this statement.....
UPDATE (5/23 at 5:15 ET): WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart issued the following statement to PokerNews regarding the international player policy:
"There is serious misinformation being shared.
International players are requested, not required
to bring a second form of identification to validate their address. This will save time (in past players were asked to verbally provide said address — at times difficult and lengthy given various languages spoken) and avoid need for follow-up paperwork. Of note, the request to validate an address is no different for domestic players than international players — it is simply that most U.S. players have drivers licenses with an address while most passports and international licenses do not. A domestic player showing a passport will similarly be asked to confirm a physical address.
"This policy is a result of federal requirements for licensed casinos to use all reasonable efforts to obtain a permanent address of its customers, not an 11th hour shift by the WSOP. Rest assured we understand and embrace this is the 'World' Series of Poker and
no player will be denied entry on basis of inability to provide this secondary form of ID inclusive of address
. The WSOP just happens to be a large machine and players cooperation to bring something that includes an address (utility/credit card bill, bank statement, etc) can make the experience smoother and more efficient for all. We look forward to seeing EVERYONE who dreams of poker greatness at the WSOP this summer."
I stole this from PokerNews, here.....

So, in short, if you can bring a 2nd form of ID, fine, things will likely go more smoothly, but it is NOT mandatory.

So better than last year, then?!
!
For those not familiar, Binions moved their Poker Room upstairs last year. It was accessed via various back staircases, & endless, long-abandoned & deserted corridors, which eventually took you to the Tourney Room.
The Room was completely unfirnished, & bare, nothing in it at all, though it had the bonus, oh-so rare in Vegas, of no music or slots, so it was at least peaceful & quiet.
The Bathrooms were immediately adjacent the room, but were a perfect health hazard, quite disgusting really.
The famous Binions Cash Room was still there, though, downstairs, & seemed to have quite a nice atmo.
No idea where this new Tourney Room will be, though 10 Tables suggests it is fairly small.
A reply from Paul the td at binions
Binion's Hall Of Fame Poker Room Tony, no it's back downstairs. Upstairs was nice but it probably hurt our numbers being so secluded. We've already noticed an increase in "walk-up" customers being downstairs. (Paul)

Thanks Tony.
They have a monster TV plasma in that room, I recall playing a tourney there right in front of it whilst the NBA Finals were on, it don't get better than that.

What no one has mentioned is you may get stopped leaving the UK with 30 grand , they may ask you to prove where you got it from. Bank statements etc are a good idea.
p.s this happened to a friend of mine when we were going to vegas a few years ago. Also flying indirect to vegas is not as easy to take large sums of money into the US

Declare it AINEC. On the way out and on the way back.
Some sort of documentation as to why you legitimately have it. HendonMob etc and a bank statement.
There's no downside to declaring it, it takes a few minutes. There's lots of downside to not declaring it, and it will take a lot longer than a few minutes.

Yea easiest way is carry it as cash and declare it on the form. What is less well known is that you are meant to declare it to a UK customs official on departure too. I did have a small problem once at the UK end with it. And assuming you leave Vegas with $10k+... declare again. It amounts to ticking a box on a form and then that's it.
"What's the money for?"
"WSOP"
"Good Luck"
I try...

Hopefully they will cover the World Cup too
They did the last World Cup
we was at the aria mainly then
Some of my mates went to the English pub on flamingo to watch it
What a disaster English fans directed to a tent in the back yard in the midday heat
nowhere for a pi55
So I returned to the aria
My mates did too just after half time
As The tv s at the English pub packed up at half time
There was nearly a riot
Hot sweaty n bothered they was ,whereas I was sat in the poker room cool as a cucumber drinking a beer
After we went across the road to smiths and wollenskys steak house for a nice but expensive lunch
As someone had had a 28k$ roulette bink over the last 2 nights !!!

Crown& Anchor (the usual one is on Tropicana East, but there's another one on Spring Mtn) is usually the 'Brit pub' that springs to mind. I think quite a few sports books will be showing it for those that can't be bothered to move, and as an in-between solution Blondies sports bar in Miracle Mile will be showing the games. Probably C&A tho for the best atmosphere for England games.

This mag is great. Thanks for posting

I took $20k cash with me last year, I let them know when I landed and yet took me to a waiting room, made me wait for like half an hour and then said what's it for. I said for the wsop, filled in a form and that was it let me through. Seems pointless.
I brought back quite a lot more than what I went out with and filled in another form about how I aquired the money and that was it. Easy, but they just make you wait for no reason.

Another reason not to wire money to the Rio would be that the Rio will have your pants down with the exchange rate. By the time they have converted £30 in $$$ you will have lost about £1000 already
