Haven't gone economy in either for a long time
That's nothing to do with affluence, but a direct result of just picking up the easy airmiles all year and using them to fly better.
Assuming price is the same, does the departing airport make any difference? (i.e. Virgin from Gatwick or BA from Heathrow) Are you intending to fly again in the future? If so, keep your loyalty to one and earn the benefits on one faster than spraying it around.
If none of that matters and it boils down to "in a vacuum which one would you pick" then I'd pick Virgin. Others may disagree, would be interesting to see how the votes pan out.
Thanks Simon. Going to be flying from Dublin to Vegas for £373 via Gatwick and Virgin or Via Heathrow and BA for £393
Just wondered if it really mattered but will probably pick Virigin for the Miles and the free beer tokens for the Flight.
It's the flight times that decided it for me - I am doing exactly this next week and getting the Virgin flight from Gatwick would mean flying from here at something like 7.30am, whereas the BA from Heathrow means everything is shifted 4 hours later (I am not a morning person)

I've done both recently David. Virgin by a country mile.
Extra tip - pay the extra to buy the back row window seat on the Upper Deck. Better leg room, extra storage and a good recline with nobody behind you so you dont have to worry about annoying anyone!

This is a very good offer.
Two weeks in the Wynn at peak series time gets you 78,000 miles. Aria/Vdara 40k, Rio 12k.
Prices seem about standard I think. I don't believe resort fee is included, tho.
I am not convinced. I looked at some dates and the pound prices seem equivalent to the prices I expected to see in dollars (I do get "special" prices at the wynn supposedly because I have been before). I guess once you have worked it out, it is still a bargain, but it feels like I am paying a few hundred for my extra miles at the Wynn.
I'm going through the same conversation with someone else off forum. It is clearly not going to apply for every single hotel, every week of the year. I maintain it is worth putting rocketmiles on the shortlist for a quote. On the week I picked for testing, some hotels were terribly priced via Virgin (including Wynncore) ~ ofc you don't book that using Virgin. Some were about the same price as say lowcostusa, where ofc you book via Virgin now, and pick up ~ £500 of airmiles to boot. And one or two hotels were even cheaper on Virgin than they were on lowcost... With the rider that I'm not certain if you will get a RF charge or not (I'll assume you do) it is easy enough to price-compare.

Obv matters to you Andrew but isn't he having to go to Dublin first, so restricted to what and when he get go on to get there? I don't know the answer hence asking.
I have flown both BA and Virgin from Gatwick (last minute decision to go in Oct and Virgin had sod all flights) Found the movie selection better and Virgin and more drinks available on Virgin too. BA food was better and clientele on the flight much quieter..lol

Flown to Vegas with both and prefer Virgin. There isn't much in it really, but stuff like entertainment selection is pretty important on a 10 hour day fight, and VA is much better than BA in that respect.
I think stuff like seat pitch and food 'quality' is pretty similar. If one charged for beers and the other didn't, that would make the decision very easy indeed!

Disagree with that, BA entertainment is the nuts. Better flight time too imo.

Wow well done Binnions. Lots of mixed games. looks like how the nugget used to be. guess a lot of time going to be spent there this year. Will be interesting to see structure as has always been a bit faster than nugget up to now

Might save me some money, or I might not burn it as fast if I'm missing all these mixed comps
