Where are the codes Simon? Will have a search around...

Marky gave a link, but I'd also add it is well worth signing up as you get sent codes that aren't listed as well.  Further, it is usually worth plugging in all the codes and seeing what anomalies crop up.  For example, the first code might get you $60/night no frills and $200 for a suite.  But one of the other codes might be for 2 tix to see Disney on Ice or something, but on the dates you have (and this obv is highly date-dependant) it might come back with $75 for a room but $105 for a suite.  You could always sell the tickets to Chompy...

I was pleasantly surprised by Freemont Street.  From what I understand it has been tidied up alot; there seems to be a good atmosphere down there - especially at Golden Nugget.  That said, it looks more a one day trip/p*ss up kinda thing rather than staying down there.

Real marmite stuff.

Stag is Mar 27th to April 4, tho some are going home 3rd....I'm thinking of staying on and playing some Venetians for a week. Defo like the idea of Fremont, guess I'm forgetting it won't be 100 degrees all the time so walking outside up the strip will be an option for bars. Feel a bit under pressure as most haven't been to Vegas before and wanna see all the best bars n (mid range) restaurants etc etc

Jeff,
Venetian didn't run the April deepstack stuff last year and not heard anything about them bringing it back this time.
They have a schedule up, did they do that last year then cancel? Blx, don't think there's much else on...http://www.venetian.com/uploadedFiles/The_Venetian/Gaming/Deep_Stack_Extravaganza/DSE_II_2013_Schedule.pdf

Well, bugger me, guess it's back on then. It's not where they'd normally have it on the website, so I assumed there was no spring job again.

Yeh defo on, I asked them on the Facey page and they confirmed, all 600s and 400s, quite a few PLO8 and PLO for the old timers (and me). U tempted? Think I'll stay for the last week/10 days of it

Again haven't checked for any rates on those, but the MGM price looks very good to me and will check those later for discounts etc.

Tons of MGM codes flying around today Marky.
Thanks for the reseach Marky, think that's why he's chosen MGM, seems pretty cheap for an okay hotel. Where are the codes Simon? Will have a search around...

No worries, they're definitely decent and the rooms have only been done recently too, I've just had a look at the codes  here http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels/mgm_grand/promotionalcodes.aspx

The best one is the first link with the code R97455

That gives you the

MGM (Grand Qn)  $672 compared to $740 as standard

Room with a view is $704 with the code instead of $775 without.

A 'Wellness' room is $832 against the standard price of  $915 without code

With that code you can get an Executive Queen Suite for $856 which is a about the size of a Palazzo/Venetian room with the extra sofa area etc.

Perfect thanks Mark, will do as Simon said, tx Simon too, will feed in all those codes but ^^^^ looks fine by me

Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn Desert Club Resort (behind Imperial Palace/Flamingo)?

Long shot, I know.

Funnily enough I was pricing up my next trip (potentially couple of sides @ WSOP); this came up as quite a good price.  I had considered for this trip and looked quite nice - but I turned away as it was off strip.  My minibus took me past on way to airport and I realised how close to the strip it was - literally a short road down the side of Flamingo...so all in all seems a really good location

Sounds daft but, even after looking at a map, I still wanted to get a view on how far it is from the strip. If you're in Aria and can see Venetian, you think it's 5 minutes away but after 10 minutes you don't seem to be any closer! Stupid place, Vegas Smiley

Seems to be basic but ridic square footage compared to equivalent-priced nice hotels.

Koval is a great road for driving on.  Runs parallel to the strip, but with a fraction of the traffic.  But for walking on or staying on.... I wouldn't.

Dodgy?

Seems to be a free shuttle bus from the resort to the strip if that makes a difference?

I definitely wouldn't walk it at night.  It isn't far, but even so.  I think it is better to get an extra 300 sq ft of room space by optimising offers on strip rather than staking somewhere like that.  Staying off strip is fine too, if the desire is to stay off strip.  I've done it several times and there are definite pros and cons imo.

Stayed on Koval, at the Meridien apartments, a few times. Walked across the road outside of the complex to get a cab, and aslo walked to the 7-11 to get some supplies, defo wouldn't wanna be walking round much at night, but it's only a tenner in a cab and really close to the action, no problem getting cabs etc. Did u know Tupac was shot on Koval? Neither did we when we booked mind...

Well I had this beef with Biggie a few years back but I'm sure that's all forgotten about now.

I've heard this said about so many places it's hard to believe there are many places which are safe to stay. I think a lot of the image of places like this are either exaggerated or out of date or both - I definitely wouldn't pass up on a genuine bargain because of it.

When you have a genuine bargain or not is always more open to interpretation.
