I'm off to Vegas this Sunday for 2 weeks, mainly playing Venetian deepstack festival events.  Staying next door at Harrahs and flying direct with Virgin from Manchester.  If anyone wants anything checking out whilst I'm out there let me know! Will post a trip report when I return with any tips/observations!

Hi Michelle I fly out on the 15th so if your looking to change to $'s to£'s at the end of your trip let me know and we can meet up!

Thanks callum

Thanks Callum, I've got to win something first, but will PM you on facebook if I need to change some.

I have every faith that's why I asked with such confidence to know you will have some on your return!!

GL Michelle!

Here is the Nugget schedule for the summer and I've added it to the OP too.

http://goldennugget.com/lasvegas/pdf/gps.pdf

Well, this is happening! Looks like some fun stuff there.

26th June $230 8 Game mix - Can't wait for this!!!

Off the back of a few of us doing a live trip report last year we have 20 guys from my forum going out and 90% of them staying at the Nugget from the 23rd onwards. They're on the most part mixed game players too, so that schedule works out perfectly with what's on that week.

I'm probably a flip to get out there this year, but if I am it will be from the 23rd for a couple weeks.

Just found out that Virgin are suspending their Manchester to Vegas route between Nov 2013 and March 2014.  Anyone who has already booked is being put on the Gatwick flights instead.  Also heard that flights this winter are being merged where possible, so plane is taking off from Gatwick and picking up passengers in Manchester and then on to Vegas (including my flight this Sunday).

Wow, that is crap - get the total flight time of a connecting flight but pay the price of a direct one.

It doesn't really affect me because I'm flying from Manchester (departs 13.35) but those flying from Gatwick on Sunday, leave Gatwick at 11.20 and don't get to Vegas until 15.50, so their flight time is actually 12 hours 30 mins.  If I was going from Gatwick I would be very pissed off.  Advertising a direct flight from Gatwick taking 10 hrs and then effectively making it a non-direct flight with a stop at Manchester.

Not sticking up for Virgin but Gatwick flights are 11.20 leave arrive 3.05 pm LV according to the flight I booked for 11 March . That makes your flight 45 minutes extra?

Edit: Just seen Daylight Saving time starts 10 March 2013 so equivilent to it being 2.05pm normally. As you were Smiley

Not sure where Virgins flight times are coming from (unless they were hedging their bets).  A direct flight from London to Vegas should not take 11 hours 45 mins.  The BA flights from Heathrow to Vegas for instance leave at 11am and arrive in Vegas at 13.35, which is 10 hours 35 mins.  Virgin have been over-stating their flight times from Gatwick imo just in case they had to stop at Manchester, so that customers flying from Gatwick weren't too bothered about the extra "45 mins".

Don't worry, I spent 5 minutes checking whether my flight stopped at Manchester until the penny dropped Smiley

hmmm
If I go to Vegas Nov, think i'll be going on BA service from gatwick, fk having to spend 2 extra hours on a plane.
Was wondering why BA and Virgin were scheduled to arrive at the same time in Vegas from Gatwick, this little divert will avoid that

Go BA from Heathrow.

Better facilities and it's a 747 rather than a 777.

Imo the BA Heath flight is better than Virgin Gatwick for the following reasons...

Heathrow easier to get to for most
Later leaving time means no early-morning start
Later arrival time means just sort room out and crash
Better entertainment system
Better food
