Best free wifi on my recent trip were in Aria, Wynn & Venetian cardrooms.  In fact, you can sit in Venetian in cardroom or in main casino or food court and get free wifi.  Aria is similar but to get it to work you have to open a new window on your browser every hour or so (it must time out or something).

Of the other rooms I played in, Harrahs had no wifi at all, neither did Binions.  Caesars Palace reckon they have wifi but it hasn't worked at all the last few times I've played there over a 2 year period.  This time I asked the card room manager and he confirmed they were having problems.  If you walk out of the Caesars cardroom and turn left there's a snack bar called the Munch Bar.  You can stand outside the snack bar and pick up their wifi (munchbar69).  Password is MunchmuncH.

Think it just seems a solid bet to stay at the rio.  1st day am always in a mess with time consuming.  Meals on the first full day not much of an issue.  There is a dim sum place there which will do for breakfast/lunch and 1st day I arrive I am not going to be eating that much in the hotel.

Can imagine that weekend is going to be a nightmare kipping in the Wynn with the club downstairs and at $500 a night I'd hope for a decent kip!

Maybe I'll just go the week before and play the cheaper plo8, or maybe the main...

We found that the best way to eat when playing at the Rio was to walk across to the Gold Coast casino (5-10 mins walk from Rio poker rooms) where there is a TGI Friday!  Easily do-able in the 1 hour dinner break!

yeh Rio is fine food is the issue.

they have the seafood buffet though I never saw it open, upstairs above that is the  create your own burger king (24hr) [both to the right from the main entrance]

there was a chinese retaurant, the pizza/sandwich bar on the left from the main entrance, where the sports book is.

wsop kitchen has a bunch of options but it grates on you after a while.

buzios fish restaurant on the walk down to the convention center by the door to the swimming pool.

if you want to go all out, all american dave did delivery services of proper healthy meals that looked and smelled so good and were actually healthy and fresh.

absolutely best free wifi I found was in the wynn. <3

edit be careful with the wifis, get confirmation of where you are of what the wifi is, as around the rio a bunch of networks were set up that seemed to be 'rio wireless' but were actually just some fuckers trying to make you pay and then screwing you over mercilessly giving you no product. grrrr

I quite like the Rio, stayed in a Masquerade suite for 2 weeks in 2006 during my first trip and it was the nuts Cheesy

There used to be a Hamada that did deece teppanyaki, but it seems to have gone now... Buzios is decent, Voodoo too albeit not a quick bite. I also thought that the American Grille was ok for grabbing food in a break and they also have the Whopper bar too now that I've never tried!

Deffo wouldn't be leaving the Rio to get a TGI Fridays though, Ping Pang Pong thooooooo

on break of wsop events the walk to TGI is an absolute must, it can cut fine if there is a large bunch of you who aren't power walkers, but compared to the Rio selection it's awesome.

forgot about voodoo steak restaurant/bar meant to be ok with excellent views, the grille is stodgy/bulky US food nothing special and can be quite busy.

room service gets very expensive and a bit much after a while.

hopefully the chinese restaurant opens back up as it was shut for refurb at the end of last series.

Can anyone give me any tips on booking boxing tickets please. There's a group of 8 going for a week on may 2nd, it's my 4th trip and the 3rd time I have been at this time of year because there's usually something on fight wise that weekend. Previously however we've only watched the fights on a CCTV feed in the mirage but I'd like to look into getting tickets this time round.

It's expected anytime now that Floyd Mayweather will announce a fight with Robert Guerrero on may 4th at MGM, has anyone had any success with these before? Do they sell direct from the garden arena or through a 3rd party?

Any help would be great thanks in advance.

I got my tickets for UFC 148 from Ticketmaster, they sent me a code when I bought them and then I had to pick them up at the arena on the day.

I was looking at something American from Ticketmaster.com but the delivery options just said - for the USA and for Canada - does it always say that (i.e. ignore it) or does that mean you might have a problem buying it from over here?

That's a bit more of a Ticketmaster question than a Vegas question but I'm hoping it's an easy answer

The Noodle place & PPP are both very good over at the Gold Coast. I always just used to get a burger or steak at the Grille, but you're not wrong about stodge Cheesy

Room service is ridic expensive with all the $3 for a tray and $5 for some muppet to get lost 9 times onthe way to your room so your food is cold segh sejkldjk

I can't remember if there was anything like that mentioned for the UFC tickets, I imagine there was though and it's just a standard thing. Obviously saves them posting internationally and you just collect at the event  like I did.

Seen a few at the OG I wouldn't mind seeing again...

I've only seen 2 proper shows, Le Reve which was excellent and I would definitely go again. I also saw Terry Fator the same year, very good fun and if there were some new characters I could go again np.

"O" at Bellagio was brilliant. I wouldn't go and see it again tbh but I'm glad I went to see it.

No trip to Vegas is complete unless you visit these three - all  highly recommended.

Atomic Testing Museum

Boulder City - Hoover Dam Museum (suggest two visits, it is awesome)

Las Vegas Natural History Museum

Literally no idea there was a Natural History Museum.

It's now on the list.
