Yeah trying to decide whether to cancel booking and rebook elsewhere.    Only reason go to plaza is that the rooms are good.  Casino itself is a dump.

Booked with expedia who seem to have horror stories about waiting months for refunds.

Anyone gt any good experiences about getting cancellation refunds off expedia reasonably quickly (ie 2-3 weeks rather than 3 months or so which a lot seem to experience) ?

Going back a few years when I used to book 4/5 rooms each year, I often had some with them, and can't ever remember any problems getting the money back onto my card when I cancelled.

Apparently non-US players need to have secondary ID with their address on so make sure you take your driving licence too.

For the experts who know about the miles, got this email the other day.  Worth buying some?  I have 38k miles already plus whatever my next flight will get me.

--------------------------------------------------

Why not give your Flying Club miles the boost they need and treat yourself to a fabulous reward flight or upgrade. All you have to do is Buy Miles and you'll get a fantastic 20% bonus. This 20% bonus is also available if you purchase Miles Booster*.

I actually managed to dig my ITIN out the other day, after seeing my mates getting drilled for about 8k between them by the Nugget last year, and then having to jump through hoops when they got home to sort it out.

Fingers crossed I'll need to use it Cheesy

From the twitter feed it looks like it's been imposed by the Gaming Commission there so while the WSOP are the first to announce it, it could be for every casino.

I'd just make sure you have a secondary ID just in case.

Hi guys

Travelling next week and hoping to play as much of the series as I can. Just a few questions with regard to money that I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

I'm aware of the $10k cash limit to take over, but unless I have a nice early score, chances are this won't be nearly enough. What do people do with regard to making sure they will have enough for buy-ins? Do people wire money to the Rio in advance? Is loading up one of these pre-paid currency cards an option? If so, can these be used for buy-ins? Any other decent options?

What do I need to do to avoid paying tax on any winnings? It says on the WSOP site that foreign residents of US tax treaty countries need to provide an individual tax identification number. Is this just basically a National Insurance number?

How are winnings paid out? Cash will obv be an issue to get back to the UK. Do they give out cheques or pay directly to your bank account?

Sorry if these are pretty noob questions or if it's all already been covered. I have read some of the thread but I didn't fancy trawling through 160-odd pages Smiley

You can take as much as you want out, but just make sure that you declare it.

If you cash in a WSOP event, there are staff who will go through the process of filling in the forms to ensure you get your ITIN number.

I took mine in cash, but there are plenty here who have won sums large enough to warrant payment in other ways.

I always find that cash is an issue to get back to the UK, but not for the reasons you're obviously thinking of...
