See the cosmo is the first to hit a 30 buck a night resort fee!!

Also Golden Nugget have gone from a $5 freemont experience fee to a $22 resort fee

I saw that when I reading VMB the other day... Doesn't make any odds to me, as I buy the internet every day, but not great for the majority.

Don't think 4 Queens charge one (yet), and I'd imagine that there are a few others along Fremont that are cheaper.

On the Cosmo site it is offering rooms at $128 per night.

There is no mention (I can see) of a resort fee, so is that included in the $128, or on top?

Without looking, I'm 99% that it will be without the resort fee.

Think almost every place charges them now, and they're added separately from the rooms.

Some places they're optional, but most you don't have any choice.

On top. You can always click "book it" and it will take you to the next page where it loads all that shiz up.  I can understand people being against RF's but I don't see the big deal.  $1 room +$99 RF is just marketing dross compared to $100/night room.  As long as you are comparing prices properly, it is still easy to see where the best price is.  And like Marky, if you always take the internet each day, it matters even less.

Cosmo is a Marriott and they give free internet to all members of their rewards scheme anyways.

Is there anything to be gained by booking a hotel through an MLife account?

Deal coming up as a similar price to lowcostusa after resort fee added. Would prob rather just pay in sterling but, if there is a possible perk, I'm all ears.

Direct?

Where from and which airline?

I would say yes dependent on these answers.

To expand - if its direct from Heathrow with BA/Virgin then yes please! If its indirect from Dublin but changing via Heathrow/Gatwick then again, yes please. If it's from Manchester via Philadelphia on US Airways then pay more for a better plane.

Cosmo is in their Autograph collection.  In previous years they had a "money back +10% if you find cheaper" offer which meant you could book on the Marriott page (or the Cosmo page, can't remember which way round it was!) at a bad price and then point out the better price on the other site, get the better price matched and a further 10% off.

Whichever way you go about it, each person knows what facilities they will or won't use and therefore be able to compare like prices with like prices.

its annoying having to book one week at a time, is there a way to book hotels for 6 weeks at a time or do they lose money in taxes or something.

You can book a "longstay" in a place like Vdara.  The vid put up here  recently of AlexonMoon and Seb86 show them in a nice pad @ Vdara and paid $10k/month for iirc.

For "normal" hotels then the limits vary, but it is hard to get an online booking for longer than 3 weeks.  However, 2 x 3 week consecutive bookings will be about 4 minutes work.  At reception, ask them to put them together and then you have a room for 6 weeks?
