What's the cheapest hotel mid strip these days now the imperial palace has been done up and changed name? Might do a side trip from work 10th Oct for 4 or 5 days but I'm slightly averse for paying more than about 50 quid for a room I'm only ever going to sleep in. Can't seem to find much below that figure, I guess us hotel nits are being priced out of that area
Probably Flamingo but with resort fees added on its not cheap any more.
The dates you are looking at coincide with a convention that has 30,000 attendees which is probably why rates are up that week for you

Yeah I did wonder, I could also go before my work thing, so 2-7th Oct but that doesn't look a whole lot better either tbh....
Might have to settle with going downtown, and just do 3 days or something like that.

Not directly Vegas related but anyone here a member of BA's executive club?
It's the tier thing that is puzzling me. I've gone straight into bronze tier after joining the other week (I could backdate my LV trip from May/June for a bunch of points). I'm now more than halfway to silver, and I have another LV trip booked in January for a few more points. I basically have a year to make silver tier before my points reset, am I right in thinking if I make silver before September next year then I'll be in silver forever? It isn't very clear on the BA website but I've read it that once you make a certain tier, then that's your minimum tier?
This won't make sense to most people! But if anyone in the executive club can shed any light I'd be most grateful. I might go slightly out of my way to make Silver if I get the answer I'd like
Edit, found a bit more info on a flight forum, seems you get relegated if you don't get enough points every year, so I might as well enjoy the bronze perks whilst I have them
It was years ago that I was silver, but it only lasted a year. You could get into the exec lounges with silver then (free drink yay!) so if its the same now, I doubt silver is permanent.

I briefly looked at ballys they were $131 a day average !! Which is pretty expensive for a bit of a below average hotel
Have you tried hotel.com ?

Doesn't seem too bad mate, and from what I recall walking down that road at night doesn't particularly dodgy or anything right?

Bit more, I'd have thought.
Mrs Red & Red once came to see me at Rio from Caesars & nearly died in the process, & Gold Cost is 5 minutes further.
But far for a man in your condition, Woodsey.

the super nits walk it.
the nits get a free shuttle from ballys to rio and walk the rest
you could rent a car and when drinking, just leave it wherever and use the shuttle ^^ next day to pick the car back up (recommend valet, as you give them a ticket and they go and find it.. better than trying to walk round 8 levels wondering if you are even in the right car park...
)
or taxis obv
one place central that most forget about is casinoroyale. However, even they have caught on and are asking silly money.

best rooms centre strip < £50 a night is a tough search, even at the quietest time of year. Going to have to pay up, walk more, or put up with meh rooms, or even 2 of the 3 on rough dates.

Tbh I just stayed at Gold Coast and rooms were very nice as they have just been refurbished. Easy to walk over to the Rio for a direct shuttle to Harrahs or the GC has a shuttle that goes to Caesars but you have to go via Orleans first.
If you're renting a car then GC/Orleans/Downtown is easily the way to go nowadays.

Aye GC seems the best option, with the other suggestion as a second option when I come to booking it.
