Can't see many paying $500 a night for this to happen outside the door.

Must have walked past there a fair few times.
Saw that last night, is that the walkway out front between Wynn & Venetian?

Yeah, looks like it was near the bottom of the steps/escalators/lifts that go up to the bridge over to the Venetian.

Yikes, you'd imagine that was one of the safer areas. Done that walk on tilt dozens of times.

Wild, and just goes to show. Can happen anywhere.

Was thinking about just booking in advance for the WSOP without knowing the schedule. Just checked Wynn prices for June. Most midweek days are $424, most weekend $600+, before resort fee and tax...
Was expecting the pricing was going to be cheaper this year after the post COVID scramble had finished.

It is, there is normally money off offers for people with red card or whatever, but even then it will be £300 mid week, £500 weekends. Just have to stay at the Golden Nugget or Holiday Inn. so long as I have a pool, bed, internet and somewhere to eat, will be fine. Will be sad to miss the Wynn though, bit of a tradition.

I first went to Vegas in 1999. Brought $800 cash with me. Stayed downtown, played 4/8 limit in Binions, free smokes and drink, meals cheap. I didn't win at poker and still came back with $300 after paying for the hotel.

I'd say go with Ballys, and then you're smack in the middle of the strip, and can use 2 pools.
Alternatively, stay at Harrahs if you want to be nearer to Venetian & Wynn.
I'm all booked for the summer, as I'm expecting my offers to drop off, so have got Aria/Nomad/Mandalay booked.
Will use Cosmo/Wynn for the 3 nights spells between those 7 night stays.
I basically no played Wynn in the summer, and now my offers are down to 2 nights Sun-Thur & $100FP/$100RC. They were 3 nights comped including weekends with more FP/RC.
Did the same with Cosmo, where I only did about $5k coin in over 5 nights, and they dropped me to 3 nights from 4, but have upped my RC. I'm guessing that is because I spent a fair bit on food whilst there.

I used to pay just over £100 a night at the Wynn, was good whilst it lasted. I might look at Bally's, but much preferred Paris, but guess upstairs isn't as smokey as the casino.
FWIW Golden Nugget is like $40 weekdays/$90 weekends on the last offer they sent me. Could even afford to pay their ridiculous tourney fees if paying that.

We all used to pay next to nada, before the £ was worth ju ju beans, and prices increasing so much at the same time
Paris is likely to be at least 2x as expensive, which was the only reason I didn't suggest that. I always stay there if the prices are the same, but only take Paris if comped.
You'll have the RF of ~$40 as well, and that'll be for the Carson Tower. Not too bad if you've a car in tow as it exits right by the parking.

Cheers Marky. Didn't realise there was a big difference between Paris and Bally's. Think have already decided am likely just to go for Bally's, it is an easy walk to Paris. Just had a flashback to the 3 hour queues to reg. Avoiding those queues is going to be such a benefit.
Would like to play the Wynn more, but last year everything was 3 starting days and 2 days after when I was there, so could only play one MTT at most whilst there. It will obviously be a ballache if they run a good schedule, as it is the best poker room. Think I can almost get to the Venetian on the monorail which might make a change, and could try out the MGM this time too.

I prefer Paris by a wide margin as well, but it's easy to just nip through the walkway and get to Paris if I want to.
Not sure why there is such a big price difference, but it's up there just below Cromwell & Caesars on their pricing. Think the Paris pool is better as well, but you can use that from Ballys as well.
It'll be the Horseshoe by next summer as well, and hopefully all the new dining spots will be settled, too. The poker room has been redone as well, and I think I'd sooner play there than the Aria or Bellagio, looking at it. Very spacious and all new tables/chairs by the looks of things. Just the chips to be updated, which I presume will be done once they rename it officially.

Wouldn't it make sense for two to share a room?
I used to do it regularly in my travelling for poker days, even in the UK. Had many a threesome, (You know who you are) Short straw sleeps on the floor.
