I was there last week (shipped a Ballys daily, allers) and it looked very impressive, extremely spacious

Wouldn't it make sense for two to share a room?
I used to do it regularly in my travelling for poker days, even in the UK. Had many a threesome, (You know who you are) Short straw sleeps on the floor.
I did it on a couple trips in my 20s, but then I was trying to make money out there, not just on a jolly.
Also, with the average price of rooms out there (pre 2020), I was happy to pay to have my own space, especially when there for a long time.
Definitely makes sense if you're there grafting, though.

Not sure it works for me in Vegas. I am usually all over the place with jet lag and random tournament start times. I think I'd be pretty hard to share with, with my random sleep times and my CPAP making annoying noises all night.
I think it would work way better at a GUKPT where you are both playing the same tournament.
FWIW I used to share a room with 4 others back in Australia for several months, wouldn't swap that time, but don't think I'll do it again any time soon.

Bally's Resort Tower is the future. Best value on the strip imo.
New Horseshoe Poker Room is pleasing. 18 tables. Best food outlet in the casino too, there was already a layer of crumbs round the edge of the table two days after it opened.

Well, as I had a voucher to use after the carnage with my flight in Jan '22, I booked the Virgin flight with Delta at the weekend.
Was just under £2k for PE both ways, but with my $200 voucher, I got Econ Delight out & PE back for £850.
Have been booking hotels since I got back at the summer, so we're all set for those.
The line up at present is -
Aria
Nomad
Cosmo or Wynn
Mandalay Bay

Jubilee Tower means you can use your own bathroom when you're playing cash, and only have a short walk

Think we're still ~15c down on a year ago
Think I'll be driving the scooter to the Orleans to play this summer.

ESTA warning.
This is from the ESTA website;
How does Cuba’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism impact my travel to the United States using my approved ESTA?
If a traveler is found to have visited a country designated as State Sponsor of Terrorism, the traveler is no longer eligible to participate in the Visa Wavier Program and must apply for a visa to enter the United States.

This only affects 4 countries:
Cuba
North Korea
Iran
Syria
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Sponsors_of_Terrorism_(U.S._list)
However, it might get interesting for poker players soon. There are mentions of Russia being added to that list - and I know a lot of poker players will have Sochi on their passports...

Only just saw tikay’s post about Cuba… thankfully I have 2 passports, so I should be okay - but I’m going to check anyway

Meanwhile, I’m putting plans together for a week during WSOP from 8th to 15th June.
It seems to be much more expensive for hotels in that week compared to the following week - does anyone know why that might be?
Are any Blondes planning to be there during that week? Would be nice to meet a face or two for a drink between the comps.

Just had a look at MGM for the first 3 weeks in June, and it's all quite comparable, though some hotels are really high some weeks etc.
Can get Luxor or Excalibur for ~$80 + RF for most of the month. and that's without any member discounts or offers.
Vegas room rates are really topped out at the moment, and occupancy is sky high everywhere.
Doesn't help we are getting smashed up the bottle with the exchange rates, doubled with the price increases everywhere in Vegas.
I get there on the 18th, so will just miss you unfortunately

Looked at the Horseshoe/Ballys for that week a couple of days ago and it was just over £100 a night. Didn't seem too bad to me.
Still can't see me going, but starting to think limit O8 and 8 game aren't too bad and can throw in a 2 day deepstack or two. Then I realise I am a loser in limit O8 and 8 game...
