Alabama 3 one of the best live bands in the UK.

Vintage Trouble. Bought their album after seeing them on Jools Holland.

Can't really leave this one off the thread, for obvious reasons.  Carter USM, fabulous band, fabulous memories.

Sorry about the ad - looks like EMI have blocked all versions including the video, other than their own.

The first bands I was into were Carter and James, purely because some matey in class gave me a C90 with one band on one side and the t'other on the flip.

The Love album, just wow. Takes me back to an era when everything and anything was attainable! Class

One of the Greatest Rock movies ever.

Starts with.

& ends with

David Byrne was the most energetic & eccentric frontman. I so regret not seeing a Talking Heads gig during the late 70s & early 80s.

I loved the Bridewells mainly becasue they were all my mates and I was going out with the lead singers sister. Their wiki page is possibly the most funny thing I have read in years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bridewell_Taxis

best bits..

"On 14 January 1991, after an all day drinking session in an east Leeds pub, The Station at Cross Gates, singer Mick Roberts was caught up in a bar room brawl which resulted in him being stabbed in the throat and neck."

"A semi-clothed Mick was chased through the streets over an extortionate brothel bar bill and was later seen three floors up on a narrow ledge of the hotel looking"

Memories Smiley
