btw im really big on live sizings etc, 50 -> 65 generally is pretty big, live guys usually bet lke 1/2 pot as standard or close to pot if they are b/calling.

Obviously not folding a flush draw (how deep are we though? calling could be better) but just something to think about in future (over 3/4 = strong dont bluff)

Fair point, in this particular spot, I felt it was a "go away please" bet.

I genuinely didn't think he had AA/ KK and he'd 3bt me like two hands before again.  From subsequent hands, my read was correct, he was trying to adjust to me.. Just did it in a bad way, and held unfortunately.

But we just got a big double with  vs on 525cc... He cr/ calls.

Turn 2, seeyaa.

uncomfortably true..

The question is, I guess... What happens when I do something like this vs one of you??

Snap with a pair?
Snap with A2?
Call with a FD?
Fold, cos I have it 'this' time?

Snap with anything that I raised for value with, I also consider a combo draw a "value raise" if I decided to play flop that way.

To extend on that, flagging flop and c/c turn with Q high is prob better than jamming

Not that either are a good idea obv

Im not afraid to admit the last couple of hands I've been torn apart for (correctly so ofc) has been hard.

But I definitely bucked my act up this afternoon, and then rocked up from 200 (900 down) to 1093 for a total loss of £7.

Well played john, in the end.

Just raised the two spades and took it down pre. If it weren't for this diary I'd have missed out on £9.

I think this a great honest diary. Fair play to you Mr Black and thank you for sharing it.

If I can ever get a chance to play cash then Q2 utg I will definitely have a pop with and report back. It could be called a "Jon Black". Ranked alongside "the gay waiter" I believe?

Our old pub cash game had a rule where every player paid you a pound if your starting hand had a nickname and you won without showdown. I can remember the big row about Q3.

Keep it up JB and good luck.

Standard Joe. I learned a long time ago that Joe just naturally runs better than other people. I'm not sure why I still gamble with him...

Gonna play some live cash tonight and will be opening Q2ss as often as I get the chance
