Having a cracking time on a great cash game with Nick.

Not being given any tough spots, but losing a little.
Lost a couple of pots to an older lady where we had the best hand for most of the cards.  However by the end, we were no longer in front.

Lost a big all in in with KK vs AQdd in 3bp
On

money in.

River - Ah

Made a big bluff with

On 10s

Where I raise btn £7, peel £21

Call 22,

Jam over 52 for 260 more.

He takes 3-4 mins and calls KQ, we do not improve.

I expected him to fold one pair hands and sometimes call AA which we got outs vs.

Ffs.

Id been in 3 big pots and always had massive hands... Didn't expect him to level himself into calling.  He said he only did because id value bet 66 on J2379 a few hands earlier otr for 1/3pot.

Meh...

Having less fun without Mr Flannigan, seems like a pretty sweet gent.  However Goulder has now joined and game is pretty active.

Hi John

Im becoming an avid reader of your diary.

Looks like you have the capacity to enjoy your life and if I may be so bold Id suggest dont chase becoming a poker hero, take the obvious advice given and one day (hopefully soon as far you are concerned) all will slot into place and you will enjoy poker for what it gives to you and at a level to suit you.

Im just an old rec player trying to absorb some of what I read on your diary and that of others to keep up with what seems to be the constantly changing dynamics of this tantalising game.

Cheers and GL

Thankyou sir. I really am trying to absorb and utilise all the advice given.
Poker is a tough game and I need to get out of my own head and keep it simple.

Going to try and remember all sessions over the past week...

Wed
lost 300 on cash with hero lineup (mainly 88 vs AK aipf for £200)
played satellite and won a seat for £150 - £1100
lost 100 on cash later I think

Thur
Won 800
couldn't play sat and carried on with cash

Fri
Bust main event in level 6/7
played cash and lost a little (cant remember)
went out with 'lads' for a wicked night out
Came back at silly am and won 100 but flicked it in on 'flips' and lost

Sat
Won 700 first session
paid for 330 buyin and bust with AA vs QJhh aiotf  , turn is perfect  for ultimate outs and river is a justice  to complete the 'get there' and 'seeya' from the MPP for me
lost KK vs AQ aiott 10105dd for 200
got 'up' to level in for 600 with a couple of rough ones then moved over and topped up to lose 800.

Mon
in for 800 total on night
cashed out 577

lost A3hh vs AKo on AK39hhQ
lost J6cc vs AKo vs K7cc vs 69  on A78cc
lost 74dd vs 94cc aiotf 736dd
lost QJ vs 22 last hand of night on J82ss brick brick......

played really well and picked a great bluff spot with 97hh on 10104cc
Where I raise pre and cbet big, get a peel from SB and check back turn... river ruins his entire range and set him in for just over pot size.
He folds quickly mentioning about how I 'got lucky again....'

Last night was supposed to be my first night grinding on my own.

As Pleno and I have agreed to end the deal for the moment, with a caviat that he wants first dibs on when I get to 100nl.
Mainly because they have a few horses at that level at the moment and having time to coach me at a different level just isn't going to work, which is fair and we haven't had what we were going to according to the plan this time last year when we began.
It's down to both of us, my job always makes it difficult if im GMT this week, then GMT-5 for the next four and then GMT+8 for a few... etc.

It's been great having him to talk to and sweat.  Poker just seems to easy to him. Cheesy #mbn

Anyways, the plan now is one that's been reccommended to me and will take a different tact and a different set of skills to execute correctly.

I will be playing 1 hour sessions at a time - MAX
I will have a stop loss of 2bi's - MAX (minimum time between restart will be 30mins)
I will be playing 50nl initially, looking to move up once we've grown our bankroll significantly and have a reasonable hand sample - $2k/ 20k hands
I will be playing only 2 tables of zoom, beginning with a slightly tighter style than I have recently with the intention of focussing more on individual hands and spending much more time going through hands after a session analysing my range vs their range and working on my theory vs gto vs exploitative in each situation.
I've purchased flopzilla - seems really useful and is only $40
I will still be trying to get in multiple sessions/day where possible but only once enough analysis has been done on previous sessions
The aim is to improve my theoretical understanding of decisions, ranges and how to play 'the streets' and take it to a level where I can still make money when I do well without having the ability to just 'flick in' a bi because its 'only' $10.
Talking much more with a few people about spots and instead of rattling up here just 20 hh's of how our tp either won money or didn't I'll be trying to put up detailed and useful hh's on PHA to utilise the wide range of ideas and knowledge here on blonde.

Think that's it for the poker stuff..

Work wise - didn't get the promotion, tbh i interviewed terribly and felt horrid, didn't deserve it.

Personal life - trying to fix all the little things ive let 'slip' over the last few years, things like my sunglasses needing repair, flat needs x, y or z doing...

Girls - had a fun week where myself and a girlyfriend have decided we're going to formalise our 'thing' and i guess i have a gf again now.  Strange part is she seems very similar to me in a few ways.

Health - haven't weighed myself but feeling better and went shopping this week and bought only good foods, so keep that up and combine with a gf = getting fitter and feeling better.

guess that'll do for now, lunch over...
