Can u not carry on crushing live ?
yeah I can, tbh I think i've become a pretty decent live player for <1/3 at the moment... reckon once I had a few decent shots at 2/5 I would be fine there too in some setups (game selection a factor).
But if I am to truly win at poker, if I am to beat this game and to make some money from it... online really is the only way. And cash really is the only thing that makes sense.
Seing people like TL900, Lonohray, cambridgealex, thigh and other mtt grinders i know - who are all likely better at 'poker' overall (i might have played more cash than some idk) than me.. .but doing their nuts in at mtt's.
**** that!
I'll improve my mtt game for sure, for the most part focusing on the <30bb game is going to keep me safe in the important part of the tournaments and my cash and big stack strategy (BSS) will keep me getting to the later stages if i continue to play the way i have in mtts recently (few mistakes in Bham GPS for sure, but I bust with big hands).
I've seen over a reasonable sample now what live cash is like in the UK and I have only lost to myself.
bottom line -
I have more work to do to prevent the fewer mistakes im still making having a -bb effect on my winrate I cannot combat.
I am prepared to work, and work hard.
My mental game is relatively strong imo, I so rarely even get bothered by any pot/pots... it takes a whole session to even get a small rise out of me and that lasts 5 minutes at the most 99% of the time.

I would say purely for confidence sake.
10-20k hands of 10nl
+ or b/e and you get moved up
For someone like you that would only take a few days anyway

i dont need the staking now, i did at the time.
but more importantly to me.. pleno is one of the few guys i would have snap accepted at the time (and i did) and there are only a few i know that i would want to stake/coach me now.
the thing for me, and im ambitious (sometimes too much so) is that I genuinely want to work up and get to midstakes... make some serious money and see how high i can go.
I don't know if my overcomplicated thought processes will come in handy at a higher level or ill just tie myself in more knots.. but and to be fair to him pleno has said.. its not much worth his time in real $$ sense at the moment for direct 1-2-1 coaching. Yes, I'm sure I could have gotten where I am and further, quicker with his help, but as you see from his blog... he plays for a weekend and banks 10k. I can't do that for him, yet.
however, assuming he's good for his word and I have been told he is... then when I get to 50nl and move toward 100nl he said this would be the time to bring in proper coaching.. at that point I hope to see a meteoric rise in my ability and results mainly due to (by that time) my solid fundamentals and his out of the box thinking.
I know he has some 'out there' thoughts sometimes and even some of the comments he's made have been attacked by the 'mainstream' thinking. Some, I'm told because he's wrong, some because people disagree. I am not good enough to tell who is right, however what I believe is that if you have 97 grinders doing one thing because its 'sound' and 3 guys doing something else because it is different, there has to be a point where if applied properly it can be more profitable.
One example, which i think can be applied sometimes was I saw him limp/raise AA UTG in a 6max cash game... and thought to myself WTF!
We discussed it and possibly person dependant, but in this case it made the 'guy' just completely blow with 52o. Clearly, most players would not blow up with 52o vs a UTG open a lot... so in this instance it was a good choice.
anyways, tongue out.
I'm currently going through the pots over 50bb from yesterday and using pen and paper to make notes, I'll type them up later.
no grind today.. just work.

ffs, just got halfway through posting all the hands and accidentally clicked on the 'close tab' x.
took ages, ill do it again tomorrow...
in review there are some poorly played hands by me, even a little spew.
played 7772 hands totalling 511 minutes and lost a grand total of $379, shouldhave been $271 according to EV - got it in after getting unlucky a bunch so possibly skewed to being worse than it should.
played 'fine' overall stats - 23/19 (stealing a lot more) 5.7% 3bt (tight) WTSD 26.9 (at the top of 'ok') W$SD% 42 (bout 10 too low)
I need to find a way to remind myself to 'calm down' its a friday which means good things will happen IF you play well. Not that you are going to win BECAUSE its a friday.
The reason I have been winning on a friday is because I've been playing 'good' most of the time and the middle of the road good/bad stuff midweek that gets punished just doesn't on a friday.

Thing is though you can't REALLY make any money at 10 and 25nl and the main motovation factor is to make money right? Why not hire a coach and play a little higher online - should pay for itself surely?

dont want to get into it today as playing so sort tomorrow/tuesday, but the fact you chose "disney songs on youtube" over HEM and then lost 12 bis when you know you should lose 4 maximum just shows a massive sign of disrespect, which is fine, wte, but also no discipline at all. i dont care if your john black, moorman, ivey, wte, once youve lost 10bis your not gonna play optimally, 99% over 5 bi's.
if it was a one off thing it would be wte/still really bad, but you've done it before.

I said months ago I can't get hem to work with zoom.. I haven't effectively used hem for live play for a long time. It actually helped me stop using stats I dont fully understand for justification of poor play.
music > no music > tv/ movies
When playing...
I stopped for a brief period after losing a few bi's then played again, then stopped again, rinse repeat!
What am i supposed to do on a Friday with the games good and feeling ok?
Just stop because we ran 2p into a turned straight in a 3bp bvb?
Or lose AK vs AK vs 88 aipf?
Granted we spewed with KQ vs AA twice on Q high boards, both vs non full stacks and they can turn up with worse some %.
Yes I've had big losing days before, I've stopped at stop loss plenty.. Also had numerous sessions where i go -4bi and finish +ve.
What do you want me to do pat?

abs no excuse for not dropping down/stopping when you're supposed to, seems like it's happened multiple times over time. It's just not acceptable and I certainly would never ever stake anyone who did this more than once.

the 'problem' i have with my job and lifestyle is when I get 'time to grind' often its a whole night or couple of days..
what am i supposed to do if i smash stop loss in the first hour? just tickle my balls till the clock hits 0000 again?
take a break - i do
have a shower/ wash/ freshen up - i do
go out, do something for an hour - i do
And if we hit it again?
etc?
It seems silly that if i feel like I'm playing good... and possibly because of the level, possibly because I try to not even care about the £$ at all and think of it as bb's the pots just don't bother me 99% of the time.
I'm not the most patient person and stopping earlier last year was essential because I would tilt a little, at most. Now any real 'upset' or tilt is so rare and I insta-quit when I feel even close.

I keep getting told I need to put hands in.. to win over the 'long term'.. that xbb/100 is good...
I'm trying but the appreciation of the long game can only come as I put in sessions and hands.
I'll have a shower and redo the post that I lost last night with all 25 hands we lost over 50bb's.
let the fun begin...
