I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Hopefully..
Played like a wannabe hero at the start of the cash game, and just got put in a coffin by everyone.
Now drinking and chilling with Lonohray, Dcardno, Areynolds and 'Gash'...
Going to bed soon, Picken is still in the Mega Sat (I couldn't play).
Gl him

Yesterday was a sick day all over tbh..
Absolutely mental how many proper heros were everywhere.. Cody, Eames, Keys, Sykes to name only a few.
[X] met the devilfish
[X] discussed tactics about ladies
[X] had a photo with charlotte and Helen the masseurs, ill get that photo today hopefully! (Charlotte and I spoke a bit later, very nice young lady, and stunningly pretty)
Had fun trying to update for a bit, and hopefully captured some.of the fun side of finding a table draw that included four big names in one go. I then had a breakfast and headed onto the cash tables, played bad and ran bad (couldn't make a pair) to get into a BIG hole. Which as you'll know from the last couple of weekends, has happened a bit recently.
one last buyin, in for £1k and have 422 in front of me.
Properly nit up and then get QQ vs JJ bb vs straddle and it goes in for the lottttt.
Do a W and get the ball rolling..
Get Areynolds (midstakes 6max cash reg) to come sit next to me.... Errr yeah. And get convinced to play a ROE with 500bb's.
[X] call Greenpeace
I get into the pot above and do a hold for my biggest ever pot, which was pleasant.
now out of the hole, manage to trade a little money back n forth before Adam does his monkey nuts onto the table and we decide to drink instead.
Then just sat down, chatting and laughing. Bitching about the world, I buy him a massage while he's gamblaring on the roulette machine and enjoy a jacket'tato for some healthy digestion.
Then it gets a little strange for me, as pads, Sykes, 'imfromsweeden', and 'Tom' come sit at the table next to us. Sickos everywhere....
As hungry as I am for this 'game' we love, this kinda situation just messes with my head. I want to be as good as these guys all around me. I have so many people offering to help. I just need to keep on listening and keep working hard and applying myself and I know I can get 'there'. I may never be a natural 'sicko' but I hope I can beat the games I play and manage to enjoy meeting, drinking and socialising with such a mixed bunch of clever, strange, funny, different people while also doing something I enjoy.
Can't forget Honeybadger and Lil'D who were in the mixed game, seems like a bit of pain going around their table but I guess that's just what happens when you play games that use all the cards up.
Awake early now - deep joy.
Long day ahead, good luck me with table draws, lets head for day2 with 80k.

As he re-enters into today, Jake Cody's heart sinks as he realises he has the prospect of a poker lesson incoming...

The good diary of John Black Age 12 3/4
Tom Ambler raises to 400
I look down at A-2 suited.
Yippee, I can play the Ace-deuce game
I peel, consider the min click float jam strategy but decide to play small-ball as tighty is watching. and So, more importantly is Jake. Jake is next to me. I wonder if he knows I crush NL10 over 127,000 hands? Only on Friday nights though. I will have to strike up a conversation with him
Another player comes along. Stupid of him. How can he hope to outplay me in the Ace-Deuce game?
the flop comes Q-8-2
Perfect. I have a pair
Ambler bets into me
Perfect again, for volume 35 of the John Black Ace-Deuce strategy guide
I raise. Completely standard in this spot aainst a non-thinking opponent like Ambler. At least I think he is non-thinking. Everyone is compared to me. and pleno. and Jake. Oh Jake, you are so close to me it hurts.....
Tom calls
We both check on the Ace turn. This is wonderful not only am I playing the Ace-deuce game but I have an Ace and a deuce on the board to match those in my hand. Pleno taught me this means I have two pairs. Oh Jake, I am going to make you so proud...
the river is a blank
Tom checks
I overbet rim dunk slam jam, as I do against the Ukrainians on a Friday.
Tom thinks about it and I think he is going to call.
He folds though
Jake looks at me. Yes, he looks at me!
----
The bad diary of John Black, age 12 3/4
George Baldock raises
Baldock is a town in Hertfordshire
I learnt that in basic spy training....
Someone I do not know and therefore they are unimportant peels. Fool.
Jake Cody folds in the small blind
Oh Jake, I so want you to out-play me in a hand so I can see what it feels like
I flat
Q-Q-5 flop
Perfect, if I have any hand really. He can't possibly have any part of it and I can use being out of position to outplay him as Jake would want me to do
I check. For deception. I only ever check for deception
Baldock bets 700
I call, with ultimate dexterity, hopefully Jake notices the artistry with which my right index finger flicks those chips in
We both check
He has none of it
I bet 1200
He makes it 3100
Oh. Can't give up now, Jake is watching
10,000. Take that Hertfordshire town man
He shoves for 35,000
Oh. Oh. Jake, I'm sorry. I only wanted to impress you. Jake, Jake, Ja....I fold
