The Tighty Daily Report, with photos & laconic wordiness, returns, just in time for the NFL season. Thanks Rich, we've missed these.

Presumably, you'll be off to watch Leicester thrash Villa this afternoon, then back in time to gorge yourself on an evening's NFL?

Yorkshire, despite 5-6 call ups to England through the summer retained the county championship earlier this week (which meant the 7/2 warwickshire bet was a loser)

Middlesex, on whom we are on each way at 14-1, hosted orkshire at Lords this week

In autumnal conditions Middlesex were inserted and rolled over for 106 by the veteran Ryan Sdebottom

By the middle of day 2, Yorkshire had replied with 299 and Middlesex went into bat again

By the end of day three they had amassed a remarkable 573-8 declared setting Yorkshire 380 to win

Yesterday Yorkshire were bowled out for 134 and Middlesex completed a swtichback 246 run victory

number ten batsman toby roland jones became the first player in county championship history, and only the 5th ever, to score a hundred batting ten and then take 5 wickets

Middlesex have one game to play and are 3 points away from securing that each way return

today is the final ODI

Cummins has 12 wickets in 4 games and barring a miracle is a winner at 7/2

We need England to win today for another winner at 7/4

Smith to make a score to try for a third winner at 5/2

Willey and Moeen will be losers

hopefully the old trafford track will spin, as that suits this team relative to the injury ridden aussie line up

big toss bias, huge advantage to batting first on a dry used track

Tottenham Hotspur ‏@SpursOfficial

We can confirm that we've reached a mutual agreement with @E_Adebayor which will see him released from his contract with the Club.

Morning tighty.

Todays super league has huddersfield hosting warrington. Huddersfield have started to play well with the playoffs looming and warrington can not make the playoffs. I expect a huddersfield victory with quite a few points in the match. For a value bet in the anytime try scorer market I have gone for huddersfields backrower ukuma taai. I would happily back him at 5/2 for this match but better prices are available.

Suggest £15  ukuma taai to score a try @ 9/2 with hills.

I was at school with Toby Roland Jones, though was three years ahead (in the same year as his brother). He opened the batting at school and scored massive runs so I was always surprised he didn't bat higher for Middlesex. Zafar Ansari made the first XI the following year and averaged 111 with 7 centuries. I guess the county game is a touch more tricky!

Decode that for me please - who paid who, & what sort of money? He signed for 'Spurs 3 years ago, the fee was £5 million, & he is 31 years old.

And what does he do now? Presumably the EPL is closed to him until January?

I have no idea how Wiki is often so quick to be updated, but it already lists him as a "Free Agent".

he is reported to have wanted £5m paid up before he moved to another club in the transfer window

fuck that for a game of soldiers was the reported reply, paraphrased

He could have sat on his sofa running down his contract, so presumably a sum of money has been paid in lieu of his contract to get rid of him

now he is a free agent he can go anywhere irrespective of transfer windows, which only apply to players whose rights are held by a club

I doubt the Irish race has done much to help lift the spirits of Ralph Beckett or Atzeni.

Owner had to present GH connections trophy aswell lol

Ouch!   I've hated all stewards since they threw Taufan's Melody (20/1) out at Ascot 18 years ago this month.  Not that I'm bitter or anything.  Still tilts me just typing this.   I got some (but not total) compensation when it later won the Caulfield Cup but that's another story altogether.

PS:  If my bit of this post is in grey can someone tell me how to pick up a quote and then type my bit in a different colour background please?

You've got the quote facility sorted Dekka.

What is the reason for your alias, if I may ask?

I spent years DJing, compering and doing a bit of stand up on cruises/holiday camps/clubs etc & Andy Dekka was a stagename.  You prob sussed my Sky alias via my avi as we chatted earlier.

Just call me Andy - it's probably easier!

It took me an age to work that out - I thought you meant we had chatted at the tables last night. I played 49 SNG's last night & chatted to a LOT of people. Then the penny dropped. You had that problem on Thursday, & I replied to you?

A slight aside here. On odd occasions, your name sometimes featured on Ch 861, & the Producers always insisted we never read it out in full, in case it gave offence, for phonetic reasons. Very staid & conservative, them folks at Sky.
