I think it's the first time in years that I can't see past the front of the market in the national. But gutted it starts at 5.15, why? It means watching it at home or missing it completely, whilst at the normal time I could have popped in and watched it in the bookies.
Many clouds surely won't be 5/1 though. Hopefully Cause of Causes will somehow get the nod also.
Anyone know if Bet365 are doing their half stake back offer?

I know it's early to be thinking of next year's football, but 2 teams I think will go off a lot shorter in the championship are:
Sheff Weds 22-1 (Boyle/Coral)
Brighton 33-1 (999/unibet/32Red)
Wednesday have just sacked Gray so I imagine they will be going for a bigger name appointment and have money to spend. Brighton have a full pre-season under Hughton and always have reasonable resource due to their high attendances - I'd expect them to have a clear out as well after a wretched run last time out.
What really drives this is I'm a bit non-plussed by most of the teams at the top of the market. I still like Derby, but for me Hull, Burnley, Wolves, Forest and QPR are all HIGHLY opposable at their prices. Boro will have to deal with the playoff final defeat syndrome (see Derby 2015, Watford 2014) and they won't have Bamford. Last year the top 2 in Bournemouth and Watford were fancy prices in early summer.
We are speculating that they build wisely over the summer, but I think the selections might go off 10-1 and 16-1 respectively.
I'm just throwing it out there for discussion, and you can't eat value but I like a book of:
£20 Sheff Wed to win league at 22-1
£10 Brighton to win league at 33-1
£50 Sheff Wed to be promoted at 8-1
£20 Brighton to be promoted at 10-1
I know there are a few Owl/Seagull fans on here so perhaps they can tell me if my confidence is misguided!
May well still end up with nothing but a good set of results for these tickets (sameless results based after timing I know.......)
These were great bets whatever happens. Especially Brighton. I hope you pick up the win on Wednesday promotion bet. Really didn't think we would be 5th at this stage of season.
Wednesday are transformed from the mess of previous years. Very wealthy owner who has quietly changed the whole culture of the club without breaking the bank.

There looks a good opportunity here
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/national-hunt/sefton-novices-hurdle/winner
Yanworth the ante post fav is weak on the machine with enough (not fortunes) happy to lay it at 5/2+. This suggests to me he misses this. The obvious one would be BALLYDINE comes here fresh trainers time of year and the blue on oddschecker tonight suggests a likely runner.
As unsure of final entries/field size suggest a small win bet at
SUGGEST £20 BALLYDINE 8S various (not nrnb)
Ladbrokes limited to £6
Bet365 no go
Betfair sports no go
stan james no go
will need help to do this at 8-1

Hector, did you see John Murray's excellent summation of the Paul Ryan opportunity on the "next president" thread?
i posed your question....
late last night....
2016 US Presidential Election
Paul Ryan - Next President
Betfair Bet ID 1:66198848817 | Matched: 04-Apr-16 23:28:01 Back 50.00 10.00
was matched. happy enough for it to go on the thread i assume?
look to trade it out if it goes as expected
Yes I read it, as I do all the politics threads here. Very happy to put it on thread as I just can't see America going for Trump. I saw that Hills, who had Ryan at the 50's are now down to 25's. I will now follow " Real time with Bill Maher " with added interest and let you know any tid bits.
Re presidential elections I've a few quid on Sanders to win the primary. Read an analysis where Sanders has the easier run in & hasn't actually done as badly as expected in the safe Hillary states. Seems like Hillary is getting the press playing the it's won already line but it's actually a lot closer & could come down to the super-delegates who get to decide at the end, they declared for Hillary at the beginning, but can and will switch if the tide starts to turn.
I got 15/2 on 365 but there were better offers around (just where I had funds). Bernie just won Wisconsin as well - so odds may have dropped.

Billy Mountains are currently longer than betfair on a few for the golf.
No opinion on golf but Jason Day is available at 8/1 currently.
7/1 on the machine and under 7/4 top 5 so maths says it's a slam dunk e/w bet.

Not sure about Day, but Scott @ 14-1 5 places is a better bet than Shybets 11-1 8 places

Let me know if I owe you any money from previous bets, & when you want this settled - now, or after the event, entirely up to you.

Its that time.
You knew it was coming.
Every day for the past two weeks when I look at the home page of Oddschecker I see Many Clouds has been one of the best backed horses that day. Each day the top price remains 8-1.
I surely don't need to give you my reasons, unless you want an Ant like War and Peace. Suffice to say, i thought he performance at Kelso last time was as good as anything he has done before, and I think he is a better horse than last year
Come Saturday he is surely 5-1 at best.
Lets get that £50 ew on now please.
The one time I'm on at bigger prices.
What's the shortest price a horse has went off in national?
Haha.
First bet I had after he won last year was 50 ew at 25s. Plenty of prices in between and probably still more to go!
Lowest price I recall was Clan Royal a few years back at
. Sure there were some ridic prices in Tikays era.
Adz, Spieth/Clouds double just for old times sake?
Welcome back Ommy, hope you are in good heart & real life stuff is good.

we don't have access to any of the 5 place books at 8-1
these are
skybet
bet365
betfair sportsbook
boyle
paddy
betbright
i could get 4 places at 8-1 with betfred.
the only 6 places book has ducked it completely 13-2 victor
it will have to be betfred 4 places unless any help is forthcoming
might 5-6 places be more widespread by friday, with the main price move likely to be saturday morning?
I can do 50 E/W on Betfair if required.
thanks, booked.
Confirmed placed.
Thanks Dad, appreciate this.
When do you want settling? I can do so now if you wish, or after the Event, up to you.
